Nr. 41: Should we keep the Sabbath?

Nr. 41:

Should we keep the Sabbath?

Answer:

No and again no for an answer, we can choose which day we will hold sacred and have the rest of the New Covenant. Finished work!

Rom. 14. 5 One keeps one day to be more important than the other, another believes that all days are alike. But everyone should be fully convinced of his views. 6 The emphasis on specific days, make it to the Lord, and he who eats, does it for the Lord, who thank god. And those who do not eat, do it for the Lord and thank God. 7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 If we live, we live unto the Lord, and if we die, we die unto the Lord. Whether we live or die, we hear the Lord. 9 Therefore Christ died and was alive again, that he might be Lord of both living and dead. 10 But you, why do you judge your brother, or why do you look down on your brother? We must all appear before God's court.

This is written to the Gentiles, and they are all encouraged to think that anyone should be within its God with their lives and have freedom to choose which day they wish to have the rest \ Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

Unfortunately, many Christian sects that will keep the Sabbath that is in God's Ten Commandments, and that is a covenant sign between Israel and God. Not between us Gentiles and God in the new covenant. All of the new covenant have the freedom to choose for yourself today and do not require anyone else to keep one day above another.

Ezekiel 20 20 And the holy keep my Sabbaths! They will be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I the Lord am your God.

We as believers are not under the law, nor should we stick to the law and the works of the law. The law and the old covenant is something that is about to be obsolete and that is "out" but Jesus and grace are "in". There is grace and Christ who comes to the believer in the new covenant and it is that is the center of the believers in the new covenant in which we live today in.

We are no longer Indian chastise champion Paul says:

Gal. 3. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster champion, 26 all of the children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

We are also dead, and fixed in the law and the works of the law:

Rom. 7. 4 Therefore, my brothers, also died in the law through the body of Christ, that ye might hear someone else, he is risen from the dead, that we may bear fruit for God.

What are we as believers now under and who live in and through us? We are under grace and that is Jesus living in and through us. Therefore, we live for God - not the law - but for God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Here speaks the word of God that it is grace that transforms from my commentaries

Titus 2 11 For the grace of God has appeared to give salvation to all people.

Here is the Bible-sized main truth, the middle way Paul teaches Titus.
Imagine, God has not forgotten us. We are all included in God's salvation and no one is excluded. If one is white, yellow, red, black or mulatto, as God loves us just as much and salvation is just as rich and necessary for everyone.

12 And his grace teaches us to tell us ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

What saves us? What keeps us as believers? How to get the Christian life to go smoothly? If we follow the law, or strive to the utmost?

The answer is the same at all, it is grace that saves us, leads us to live as a true believer and one day it should take us home.
We are able only to live as God through Jesus Christ.
It causes us to live, self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.

Who lives in and through us? Jesus by his Spirit. Therefore, it is only applicable in the new covenant, it is to be a new creature and live from it!
Faith working through love, be strong in grace, etc. The New Testament concepts where the GT was: you should and should not. What a difference!

He has written so much about this topic in articles and in my commentaries that I refer to reading more about this topic where formulas come with questions on this blog or blogging about this topic.

To Grace large is a "large" Christian song:

Oh mercy high that saved me
I see it more and more!
I was lost, now I'm safe
Was blind but now I see

It was grace that filled me
and gave my heart peace
And more than the grace of salvation was
when I took it in faith

Now through life's struggle and strife
I lovingly carried forward
It is grace that leads me
and even take me home

When we are in heaven singing has
His price for a thousand years
This is our joy as great
it will never end
