The great tribulation

Matt. 24. 21 for then shall be great tribulation such as has not been from the beginning until now, nor will be. 22 And were not those days be shortened, there was no flesh saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 If anyone says to you, Behold, here is Christ, or there, then I do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so that even the elect would be deceived, if it were possible. 25 See, I told you before.

Daniel 12 1. At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who protects your people, and there shall come a time of trouble that it has not been from the day the thing people were, and until that time. But at that time, all those of your people be saved that are written in the book.

I recommend my commentaries on Revelation in the strongest here. We read in Revelation book about the church in Chap. 1-3 and from Ch. 19 again and the book. But between Ch. 4. and Ch. 18. place the time period that we call the Great Tribulation mentioned several places in the word of God. Bl. a here in Matthew and Daniel as shown.

Lord's Day

It's the Old Testament term for the great tribulation, but the Lord's Day includes even more as part of the Lord's day when God is ruling has taken place even before the great tribulation, but a much smaller scope and scale. This is not a day at twenty to four hours, but a time period that has certain characteristics.

In the Old Testament was "the Lord's day" used to describe any time of conviction, destruction, and darkness (Isaiah 2:12; Joel 2.1,2). There was a time when God went up against Israel's enemies and punished them in a decisive way (Zephaniah 3.8 to 12, Joel 3.14 to 16; Obad 15.16; Case 12.8,9). There were also any case in which God punished his own people for their idolatry and moral relapse (Joel 1.15 to 20, Amos 5:18, Zephaniah 1.7 to 18). Day of the Lord spoke basically about the conviction of sin and the victory at Lord's works (Joel 2.31,32).

In the New Testament covers the term Lord's day is about the same time as "time or hour" (Acts 1.7) and "time and time" (1 Thessalonians 5.1). It begins after the rapture and include:

Tribulation, or as it's called, Jacob tribulation (Dan 9:27, Jer 30.7; Matt from 24.4 to 28, 1 Thessalonians 5.1-11, 2 Thessalonians 2.2, Revelation 6.1 to 19.16). This is the first phase of the Lord's day. It will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. It will also be disappointing, sudden, destructive and inevitable. It is a period of about seven years when God will pour out his indictment of apostate Judaism, apostate Christianity and the pagan nations. This sentence is continuously increasing in intensity is depicted in Revelation as the seven seals, seven trumpets and seven bowls anger. The second half the crowd is known as the Great Tribulation, it will be the worst time of tribulation which the world has ever seen and will ever experience.
Coming of Christ with his saints (Template from 4.1 to 3, 2 Thessalonians 1.7 to 9). At the end of the tribulation period, the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels "in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus." He will destroy all his enemies before he establishes his kingdom on earth.
Christ's millennial reign. Lord's day hold period (Joel 3:18, cf v.14; Case 14.8,9, cf v.1). This will be a time of immediate indictment of those who rise up in rebellion against the Lord (Isaiah 65.17 to 25). The King will rule with a rod of iron (Rev. 19.15).
The final destruction of the heavens and earth by fire (2.Pet 3.7,10). At the end of the Millennium, the heavens and earth pass away with a bump and everything will melt in a terrible heat. This is the last phase of the Lord's day.
Christ.

As the Lord's Day is a time of indictment of a world that has rejected God's Son, Christ's day a time of blessing for those who have put their trust in Him and as such are members of His church. There are two main areas of Christ's day:

The holy rapture (1 Corinthians 5.5; File 1.6,10). The dead in Christ will arise. Living believers will be transformed. Together they will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord and be with Him to the Father's house in heaven.
Christ's court (1 Corinthians 1.8; 2 Corinthians 1:14, File 2.16). The faithful will stand before this court, to be judged and receive its reward. There will be no question of their salvation, but an assessment of their service. Those who have wasted their life will lose his salary, but even they will be saved, that "through fire" (1 Corinthians 3.15).

God's day
Day of God must not be confused with the Lord's day or day of Jesus Christ. This is the day of God's ultimate victory. It will happen after all the bad a defeat for all time, and the heavens and earth have been destroyed by fire (2.Pet 3.12). In all respects, is God today the same as eternity.

We meet the great tribulation prophets of several places in the word of God, one of the clearest and strongest is for Isaiah 24 1. Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty and maketh it waste, he vicissitudes of its shape, and scattered them that dwell on it. 2 When there is a priest of the people, that gentleman servant, the lady that slave woman, the seller that the buyer, borrower that the lender, ågerkaren as his debtor. 3 inch, well drained to the ground and looted, plundered yes, because the LORD has spoken this word. 4 The earth provides and wither away, the soil rich sickening and wither away, the best of them that dwell on earth, sickening away. 5 The earth is defiled under the inhabitants of it, because they have violated the laws, violated the commandment, broken the everlasting covenant. 6 Therefore a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it, the remedy, therefore burning earthlings, and there are only a few people again. 7 Mosten wither, vine sickening away, all those who before were so heart-love, sugar now. 8 The mirth of drums sound, it ends with the joyous noise, the mirth of harp sound. 9 They do not drink any more wine during the song, be it strong drink to those who drink it. 10 confusion is broken down the deserted city, every house is closed, so no one can enter. 11 On the streets sounds laments the wine, all joy is gone, the country's joy has been in exile. 12 Back in the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten and pieces. 13 For thus will it be the among the nations of the earth as an olive tree is turned down, as when after the fall, when the grape harvest is over. 14 And they that shall upward their voices and shout for joy, the glory of the Lord rejoices those from the sea. / 15 Honor, therefore, Lord, you who live in Eastern countries, honor the Lord God of Israel's name, I live on the sea islands! / 16 From the Earth's outer edge, we hear the praises: Glory to the Righteous! But I say, I perish, I perish, woe to me! Robbers robber, yes, bandits and robbers plunder. 17 Fear and the pit and yarn on you, you who dwell on earth! 18 And it shall come to pass that the flying of the terrible noise, the fall in the grave, and whoever comes out of the grave, be caught in the net, because the locks on high are opened, and the foundations tremble. 19 The earth burst, yes, the burst; earth cracks, yes, the tears, the earth shakes, yes, it rocked. 20 The earth shall stagger like the drunk and swung to and fro like a hengekøi, and its iniquity will swing on it, and it shall fall and not rise again. 21 At that time the Lord will punish the host of heaven on high and the kings of the earth down to earth: 22 And they shall be gathered together as prisoners in the cave and be stuck in prison, and at last they will be punished. 23 And the moon shall blush and the sun ashamed, for the Lord of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and for his elders is glory.

A period of approx. 7 years

When it comes to the 70-year weeks, each week in 7 years. Daniel saw a vision where he saw the angel Gabriel come to him with a message. 70 years are allotted to your people. Which people? Yes, Israel. We know that Daniel, at the time was carried away to Babylon. From the time the word is deleted to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until an anointed prince stands out. Dan.9, 25 Nehemiah was so that he would travel to their homeland and rebuild Jerusalem. The King gave him permission to do so. This was in the year 445 BC Gabriel had said that it would take the first 7 weeks = 49 years to be put in the city, and it should be 62 weeks for an anointed to come, that is Jesus. 62 * 7 = 434år + 49 years = 483 years, 360 days a year. Ie. that when we divide 483 by 7 we get 69 weeks. Now we notice that it was for the Jews it was. After Jesus died for us all, stopped the Jewish reckoning of 69 årsuker. Now we live in heathen time household. it's said, was for 2000 years. When the redeemed will be uprooted into the sky, begins the last årsuken remaining for the Jews. This årsuken of 1 week is 7 years is also called the great tribulation. During this period, God will concentrate on the Jews. On one day they will be saved.
Exactly in the 69 weeks, 483 years after word about Jerusalem should build up Jesus stood up. It's in Galatians 4.4. But when the fullness of time came, God sent forth his Son. He came on the right day and hour.

Jacob's trouble

This is primarily an affliction of the carnal Israel, but they should be saved from it.

Jeremiah 30 7 Alas! Great is the day, there is no one on, and a time of trouble it is for Jacob, but he shall be saved from it.

HUMANITY most recent test
There will also be the LAST crowding the ranks of many smaller and more crowded times, and after it is over there will be more such. It is difficult for us living today to imagine that this tribulation is the last of them all. In a way it gives some comfort, when one understands that God's word leads human history forward to the time AFTER this period. For the Bible tells us that when this trial period is over, the kingdom of God come into view and Jesus Christ takes power over the earth.

THIS IS A crowd OF ISRAEL
In the book of Daniel prophecy directed specifically against his people, the Jews, and his holy city Jerusalem. Other people, kings and kingdoms are only present in the book to the extent that they stand in relation to Israel. Daniel received many visions, dreams and clear revelations about his people. At the end of the book we read about a tribulation which shall come upon his people in the last days (Dan: 12:1). This time was also seen by the prophet Jeremiah. He speaks of a time of trouble for Jacob.

-Ask and see if a man gives birth! Why do I see every man with his hands on his hips like a woman in labor? And why are all the faces become so pale? Woe! Great is the day, no one is it. The trouble is that for James. But he shall be saved from it. (Jeremiah 30:6-7)

When Israel in the time of the end goes into the "Lord's Day", this will mean a present distress in particular for Israel. This is a time of anger and anxiety, a time of upheaval and destruction, a day of darkness and night.

-Near the day of the Lord, the Great. It is close and comes with great haste. Listen! It is the Lord's day! Full of anxiety cry there bitterly. A day of wrath is that day, a day of trouble, and a day of upheaval and destruction, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, (Zephaniah 1:14-15)

During this time Israel will enter a period of soul-searching as never before, a time of humiliation and purging sins and a new understanding of God's presence in national life as the prophet Malachi writes:

-He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver. He shall purify the sons of Levi, purge them as gold and silver. And they shall bring to the LORD offerings in righteousness. (Malachi 3:3)

COMING OVER ALL nations
But it is not only Israel that will experience the tribulation. All races are affected, and not only that, they will be physically, mentally and spiritually to experience its power.
This can be read directly from the Bible and Jesus' own words in both Matthew and Revelation.

- For when it will be a tribulation so great that it has not been from the beginning until now, and no more will be! And unless those days were shortened, there should no flesh be saved! But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:21-22)
- Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will rescue you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell on earth. I am coming soon! Hold on to what you have, that no one will take your crown. (Revelation 3:10-11)

We study these words, we find that Jesus' perspective is great. He confirms Daniel's vision of a trouble to the end times. But not only that. He expands the concept and says that this tribulation will also be the last and tells us that God has complete control over this period and its duration. In the preceding verses (15-20), again we see the relationship between this enormously difficult period and the Jewish people. Not only Jews, but also the whole world going into this time of great and decisive changes throughout the world, for nations and their political control set. It will finally show the world that management models have failed because they have totally excludes God. It will mean the end of all false religions because they do not have Christ as the only Savior and Lord. Tribulation period will serve as a tremendous catalyst for God's kingdom come. It seems like contractions of the pregnant woman. Something new will be born forward, a period of peace in 1000 years for the world.

Crowd FUTURE DURATION IS FIXED
It is strange that the great affliction length is determined by God. It has not been the case with other periods of distress for humanity. Such emergency times duration has been dependent on the forces of nature or of victory or defeat in war, etc. The time of the last and greatest of all tribulations are set by God.
It is obvious that had been left to people or natural forces to determine the length of this time, it would have continued to humanity was completely destroyed from the earth's surface.
Firstly, we know how long this particular period will last. We know it because God's word tells us so.

- And I heard what the man said, he was dressed in white linen and stood over the river's water. He lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever: one time and times and half a time. And when the holy people's power is completely shattered, all these things made perfect. (Dan 12:7)
- But the court without the temple leave out, and measure it not. For it is given unto the Gentiles, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months. (Rev. 11:2)
- And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared for her by God, that those which will make her a thousand two hundred and sixty days. (Rev. 12:6)

We note the expressions, "one time and times and half a time" (1 time = 1 year). Furthermore, the expression "42 months" (a prophetic month is 30 days), and further "one thousand two hundred sixty days." It's just 3 ½ years and is the last half of Daniel's 70 årsuke (Daniel 9:24)
It is strange that Jesus connects this period to "the elect" and says that for their sake those days shall be shortened. Who are these elect? It is without doubt the Jews will be saved in the tribulation and that the advance is known by God. This is in accordance with (Daniel 12:1-2)

- At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who protects your people. There will come a time of trouble that it has not been since the day some people were even at that time. But at that time, all those of your people be saved that are written in the book. (Dan 12:1)

These are selected in Jacob's distress and for whose sake the Lord God shorten the tribulation days, so it is only 3 ½ years. If God had not shortened the time to 3 ½ years, humanity would have perished. As Jesus puts it
- And unless those days were shortened, there should no flesh be saved! But for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:22

It remains strange to think that it is the chosen remnant of saved Jews who saves the world from destruction.

ANGEL MIKAEL revealed
At the beginning of the great tribulation will be the archangel Michael revealed to preserve Israel as a particular way of being exposed to the devil's attacks.
- At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who protects your people. There will come a time of trouble that it has not been from the day some people were even at that time. But at that time, all those of your people be saved that are written in the book. Dan 12:1
- There was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. And the dragon fought and his angels. And they could not stand, and it was no longer found for them in heaven. The great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. He was hurled to the earth and his angels were thrown down with him. (Revelation 12:7-9)

THE CHURCH salvation from the crowd
Where is Jesus' church in this period? There are different views. For our part, we are convinced that Jesus' church will be raptured from the earth and will not be on earth during the great tribulation. The church has promised to be delivered from this time of testing which shall come upon all the earth. Jesus' church will not be affected by the Lord's Day and God's wrath. This is God's clear words and Jesus' promise to her.

- Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will rescue you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell on earth. I am coming soon! Hold on to what you have, that no one will take your crown. (Revelation 3:10-11)

Here is something from the net which is very good:
1) We tend to divide the tribulation period of 7 years in two halves. It is the first 3.5 years and it is the last 3.5 years. We tend to call the last 3.5 years for "the great tribulation." This is unfortunate. The Bible calls all the time for "a time of trouble.

2) The starting point of the tribulation will last for 7 years, we have from Dan.7, 27 "And one week (7 years), he (the Antichrist) do covenant (the Jews) fixed for the many (Jews) and in the middle of the week, oblation and sacrifice cease, and the abominations wings to the destroyer (the Antichrist) to come and up determined punishment flows down over the one being destroyed (Antikrist.) (Da.7, 27) Revelation from Chapter 6-19 extends over a period of 7 years.

3) What is the term "tribulation", as used in both Daniel and Jesus it. "At that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who protects your people (the Jews), and there shall come a time of trouble that it has not been from the day some people came into being, and until that time. But on the time to those of your people be saved (the 144,000 sealed of Israel 12 tribes and the many Jews who repent in the tribulation period) that is written in the book (the Book of Life is the Lamb). " (Dan.12, 1)
"For then shall be great tribulation, as there has been from the beginning until now, nor will be, and were not those days be shortened, there was no flesh saved, but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened ". (Mat.24, 21)

4) We also have another term for this time of trouble, and it is "Jacob's trouble". "Alas, great is the day. There is no one on, and a time of trouble is it to James, but he shall be saved from it." (Jer.30, 7) The term "Jacob's trouble" is threefold. That a) The suffering that James had in connection with that Joseph was sold into Egypt. These lasted for 14 years. b) The sufferings that Jews have held up through all its history. c) The suffering that the Jews are going to have tribulation.

5) What is the 3.5 last year, they are described as "a time and times and half a time", "1260 days" or "42 weeks". "And the Great Eagle's wings were given to the woman (believing Jews) that she might fly into the wilderness to her place (it can be cut city of Petra), where she gets her food in a time and times and half a time." (Åp.12, 14)
"And I will give my witnesses that they will be prophets for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth." (Åp.11, 3) (The two witnesses to protect Jews in the last 3.5 years.)
"And there was given me a pole, like a stick, saying, Arise, and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship (the Jews) there, but the court outside the temple, do not measure it, for it is given to the Gentiles, and they will tread the holy city (Jerusalem) in 42 months. " (Åp.11, 12)

6) We will even take a second term, and it is the "Lord's Day". "Lord's day" starts after "Jesus Christ Today" is closed. The term applies to the entire tribulation period of 7 years and the actual date of Christ's return and 1000-year kingdom. (See my book: the return of Jesus. 1.s. Volumes 225-270, where I have set up 69 denominations at the time.)

7) Tribulation period are both described in the Old Testament, in Jesus' speeches, in a part of Paul's scriptures and the prophetic scriptures in the NT This is particularly true book of Revelation but also in the letters that the apostles wrote. It is of the utmost importance that we see and understand that the apostles, his letters not primarily concern the Christian church, but they concern Israel and the end times. If we do not get it, so we do not understand the contents of the Bible, but we mix together the congregation of Israel. This is replacement theology and that we have too much of. The preaching in our churches and chapels of the abundance of this proclamation and we have too much of. We will take some examples from the letters of the apostles, which shows that what I have said is correct. We can name examples of "eye opener". I think when the spiritual eyes. "Be patient and you, strengthen your hearts, for the Lord's coming is near." (Jak.5, 8)
"But of all things is at hand. So be calm and sober, so you can pray." (1.Pet.4, 7)
"As you first and foremost know that in the last days it shall come mockers with mocking that go after their own lusts." (2.Pet.3, 3)
"My children. It is THE LAST TIME, and that you have heard that antichrist is coming, as it is and now many antichrists. Hence we understand that it is THE LAST TIME. They have gone out from us (from the Jews. They have cooperation with the Antichrist.) (1.Joh.2 0.18 to 19.)
"The oldest (John) to the chosen lady (Israel in the end times) and her children (the believing Jews) ..." (2.Joh.23, 1)
"These were also Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied when he said: Behold, the Lord comes with its thousands of saints to execute judgments." Judas.14.)

8) G.T. describes the Lord's Day in many contexts. I can not go into depth on it, but we simply quote Isaiah's apocalypse. (Isaiah 24)

9) There are some who argue that Israel will go free in this time of trouble. I refer to the debate that has been in some Norwegian Christian magazine. This is an incorrect decision. Both Israel and the nations will be cut down to a minimum. "And in the country, says the Lord, the 2 / 3 parts cut off and perish. Only 1 / 3 part to leave there. And the third part I will go through the fire and clean it, as a clean silver, and try it, as an attempt is gold. They shall call upon my name. I would say: They are my people, and they shall say, Lord (Yeshuah) is my God. " (Sak.14 0.8 to 9.)

10) What is Jesus' eschatological speech on the Mount of Olives in Food. 24.1 to 51, so it is divided as follows: a) v.1-3 is a section with three questions: "But when he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him a single room and said, Tell us, when should this happen (the temple destruction) and what should sign (fig tree) honor of your coming and tidsalderens end (Group Images sighted lane). "v.4. b) v.4-13 concerning the first part of the tribulation. c) v.14-28 pertaining to the latter part of the tribulation. d) v.29-31 concerning the Second Coming, e) V.32 to 36 concerning the parable of the fig tree, and f) v.37-51 concerning Jesus' indictment of the surviving Jews. (Read Mat.24 0.1 to 24.)

11) What is Revelation book, it complements the eschatological texts in the Gospels (Mat.24, Mark.13 and Luk.17, 18 and 21)

12) John divides the book of Revelation in the following way: "Write what you saw, both what is and what hereafter shall happen." Rev.1: 19 It has been usual and say that Chapter 1 is a description of Jesus, and that what John saw. Kap.2-3 on the 7 Little Asian churches is what is now. Chap. 4-22 is what will happen hereafter.

13) One can also say that what John saw, the entire book of Revelation. What is, is the description of the 7 small Asian churches. What shall hereafter be made regarding Chapter 4-22.

14) This is not quite right, for some of the descriptions of the 7 churches concerning the end times. This is seven Jewish congregations and Gentile churches.

15) I have argued before, like many others, that the 7 Little Asian churches is a description of the seven Gentile churches, but I do not have this view anymore. It is a description of 7 Messianic congregations, and the contents of the 7 send letters applies to things that are and will happen. I justify my view with the following arguments: a) The book of Revelation concerning future things. b) The related indictment of the Jews and the world. c) It was John who wrote Revelation book. He wrote not of the Christian church, but to Jews who might share in the kingdom of Israel. John was one of the pillars of the church in Jerusalem. d) The theological content of the 7 to send the letters do not fit with the content of Paul's letters.

16) We'll take a few examples of the
a): "Write to the angel of the church in Ephesus. This says that the seven stars in his right hand and goes in between the 7 candlesticks. (Åp.2, 1) The seven armed candlestick is a picture of the Jewish congregation in the GT (Sak.4.) The seven candlesticks are images of Israel that are out in the Diaspora. lampstand has NEVER been a symbol of the Christian church. Jesus is the center of these churches and to judge them. He is described with feet which is similar to shining copper. (Rev.1: 15) Copper is a symbol of doom. The Christian church shall not be judged that way. It shall be the court of Jesus in heaven and on earth.
b) the perpetrator aspect is obvious in these churches. "And he who overcomes and keeps my works (the works that I have commanded, it is the fulfillment of Jesus' Torah) to the end (gr.telos), him will I give power over the nations." (Åp.2, 26) "for I have not found your works perfect before God." (Åp.3, 2) This is the expression of Torah righteousness.
c) There are Jews who will rule over the Gentiles and not the Christian church. "And he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as a crusher earthen vessel, as I have of my father." (Åp.2, 27) We will however have a higher mission. We will rule over angels. (1.Kor.6, 3)
d) "Morning Star" is not an image that concern the Christian church. There is a picture of Jesus come for the Jews. "And I will give him the morning star." (Åp.2.28.) That it is the case, we see the 2.Pet. 1.19, which states: "And also firmer, we have the prophetic word, that ye do well to heed as a light shining in a dark place, until the day (the coming of Jesus to the Jews) and the morning star (Jesus' return) go up in their heart. "
e) The Philadelphia congregation has received promises of Jesus to free it from the crowd-not from the crowd. "Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will and free yourself from (gr.ek) the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to try them that dwell on earth." (Åp.3, 10)
f) Any person who prevails in the great tribulation, will participate in the great communion meal, which is the same as King of the Son's wedding. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me." (Åp.3, 20) (The Christian church will also be there, but it is neither the bride or wife. It is the Jews. We belong to the body of Jesus and is part of the guests.

17) Revelation The book is further divided into the 7 seals, the seven trumpets and seven bowls court. It provides a Crown logical presentation of events, but we have a number of brackets. (See my book: the return of Jesus. Volume 3, where I set up 9 parenthesis.) A minor detail is a description that breaks the crown logical order and that will happen in the future. How is it otherwise with all the prophetic description. We'll just take one example. "And he gathered them in a place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." (Åp.16, 16), this will not happen until Åp.19 in connection with the coming of Jesus.

18) What is important incidents and events in the book of Revelation, we can note the following: Åp.4-5 concerning what goes on in heaven in the end times. The sky is getting ready for the verdict. In Chapter 4, God sits on his throne, the four living creatures standing around the throne, the 24 elders seated on their thrones, which is a description of the Christian church, who are raptured to heaven at an earlier date.
