Nr. 83:
Hanna a role model for us all!
1. Samuel 1 1. In Ramatajim in the hill country of Ephraim, lived a man of Sufætten named Elkanah. His father was called Jeroham and was the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Ephraimite Suf. 2 Elkanah had two wives. The one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah was childless. 3 This man went every year from his home village to worship and sacrifice to the Lord of hosts in Shiloh. There were the two sons of Eli Hofni and Phinehas, the priests of the Lord. 4 When Elkanah to sacrifice, he gave his wife Peninnah and all her sons and daughters each his portion of the sacrificial meat, 5 but Hanna had twice as much. For he loved Hannah, the Lord had closed her womb. 6 concubine, who was against her rival her constantly and would make her discouraged, because the Lord had closed her womb. 7 This went on year after year. Whenever Hannah went up to the house of the Lord, her rival provoked her. Then she wept and would not eat. 8 And Elkanah her husband said to her: "Why are you crying, Hannah, why do not you eat? Why are you so sad? Am I not more to you than ten sons? "
9 Once when they had eaten and drunk in Shiloh, Hannah rose up and stood before the Lord. Eli the priest was sitting on a chair by the doorpost of the temple. 10 In her heartache she prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. 11 She made a vow, saying, "Lord, Almighty God! If you will look upon your servant's, and get me in mind and not forget your servant but give her a son, and I will give him to the Lord for all his life, and it will never get razor on his head. "12 How she kept on praying to the Lord, Eli observed her mouth. 13 It was built in her bathroom, she just touched his lips, but her voice was not heard. Eli thought she was drunk 14 and said to her: "How long will you keep on getting drunk? Look to get rid of you! "15" No, my lord, "Hannah replied," I am an unhappy woman. Wine or strong drink, I have not drunk, I was pouring out my soul to the Lord. 16 Do not take your servant for a wicked woman! For I have always spoken out of my great grief and pain. "17 Then Eli answered," Go in peace! God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him. "18 She said," May your servant find favor in your eyes! "Then she went her way, she got the food and so no longer downcast.
19 Next morning they got up early, bowed and worshiped the Lord. So they gave up on the way home and came to Rama. And Elkanah lay with Hannah his wife, came the Lord remembered her. 20 Before the year was out, she conceived and bore a son. She named him Samuel, "for I have asked the Lord for him," she said.
21 Then Elkanah went up with all his household and to offer the annual sacrifice and vow to the Lord, 22 were male with. She told her husband: "When the boy is weaned, I will take him, so he can be made to the Lord, and since being there all the time." 23 "Do as you think best," replied her husband, Elkanah. "Stay here until you have weaned him. May the Lord fulfill His word! "So the woman stayed home and nursed her son until he was weaned.
24 But when she had weaned him, she went up with him. She was carrying a three-year-old bull, an ephah of flour and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. He was a little boy. 25 Then they slaughtered the bull and brought the boy to Eli. 26 "Oh, my lord," she said. "As you live, sir, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. 27 This boy was I asked for, and the Lord has heard my prayer. 28 Now, I give him back to the Lord for his whole life: it was the Lord's sake I asked him. "Then he bowed themselves and worshiped the LORD there.
Hanna originating in the Hebrew channah meaning the lovely or favored, or in an Arabic word for "compassion, sympathy. Hannah was Samuel's mother, but was childless for long. 1 Samuel 1:20 and within a year was out, was Hannah conceived and bore a son and named him Samuel, [she said] I have asked the Lord for him. {For he is widespread and I heard from God.}
Hanna was never concerned with what was about its own axis and its own needs, but what was God's will and the spiritual needs of Israel and God's church was in need of.
Drop-out rate was high in Israel. Hanna himself was childless, but she was not concerned with getting a son for his own needs, even though she was looked down upon by his concubine and sure many others because of that being childless in Israel was seen to be free by God's blessing. There were kids that would fit on one feed and one when one was old, it was not like the day before with an expanded welfare and pension plans.
We need personalities in Norway that Hanna will do all that work of God and God's church should go out again in our beloved Norway.
What is most important and what we prioritize?
Hanna priority not their own needs or what we all desire in the flesh, but what was the need for all of Israel, that it had raised a new leader and a prophet who could lead Israel back to the Lord and God's presence would return.
The whole temple service was down and the spiritual condition was very lackluster, yes there was rottenness and managers who elbow their way and took himself to remedy that today.
1. Sam. 2. 12 But Eli's sons were backless, they made light of the Lord. 13 such was the priests' behavior towards the people, so often someone come with a victim, and the meat was cooked, was the priest's servant, and had a fork with three branches in their hands, 14 the thrust him down in the pan or pot or pan or pot, and all that came up with the fork, the priest took for himself. Thus they did with all the Israelites who came to Shiloh. 15 Even before they burnt the fat, the priest's servant came and said to the man that sacrificed: Bring meat to roast for the priest! He will not accept boiled meat from you, just raw. 16 Then the man said to him: First, the fat is burned, since you can take for you after which you want to. Then he answered: No, now once you make it, otherwise I take it by force. 17 And the young men's sin was very great before the Lord, for the men despised the Lord's sacrifice.
Imagine, this was the official clergy in which attrition was greatest. Eli's sons Hofni and Phinehas were backless and did not care about what is what right or wrong or unholy or holy. They took of that which belonged to the Lord, and despised the Lord and His sacrifice. We also read that: "the Lord's words were expensive in those days of the show there was little".
How did the change?
It was at that Hanna would sacrifice everything for God. She would of course have a son when she was barren purely human perspective. And she was ignored by the others in the family and probably also by their peers and communities at the time. But she was not sore and took close to this just like King Saul was when he lived in the Spirit and lived with God.
1. Sam. 10. 27 But some wicked people said, What means will this give us? And they despised him and did not come with gifts for him, but he pretended not to notice it.
Saul ignored those who were against him and neglected him, as must and should all spiritual human being who will serve the Lord at all times. Such was Hannah and she prayed for a son who would be a prophet of the Lord and would lead Israel back to God. And she got the answers to prayer, even if it had to go through fire and water. The priest Eli thought she was drunk, but she prayed for his hjertenød and after their spiritual needs. When one has such a need, want and must expect to be misunderstood by most people, even believers.
1. Kor. 2. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he may not know it, because it judged spiritually.
Hanna also had the experience wonderful answers to prayer and there was a revival all over Israel when God made his major works. It called for the ears of everyone, and it started with no one counted on and that was the most defenseless person one could imagine, as a childless woman in ancient Israel was a person without rights and opportunities. But it was her God used and it is this God uses even today, those who are willing to surrender to the Lord 110% and have hjertenød and heart needs.
There are several examples of it are those who are single and do not "stretch" in this world that God uses. There are those that no one expects, especially the religious, that God will take out and use.
1. Tim. 5. 5 It is truly a widow and alone, has set their hope in God and pray and call on him night and day.
It is the type of people we see time and time again we see will be with the living God to do it standing alone and trust in the Lord. We read about Hanna which position she "achieved" after God had blessed her. She was with several children and a Samuel we read about her today as a "large" woman of God. Hanna was not a childless woman, she had several children (1 Sam. 2:21) after she had given birth to Samuel, a total of 3 sons and 2 daughters. In the same way it is with us all that we will be fruitful as we have with the living God to do and is under the Most High wishes.
One of the finest worship that some are made in the whole Bible is this.
1. Sam. 2. 1. My heart rejoices in the Lord, the Lord gives me great power.
Now I can laugh at my enemies because I rejoice in your salvation.
2 No one is holy like the Lord, for no one is without you;
there is no Rock like our God.
3 Stop all the proud boast, keep up with all the dirty talk!
For the Lord is a God who knows everything, trying each one works.
4 soldiers arches broken, but the weary arm themselves with power.
5 Mette must earn his own bread, but hungry do not have to hunger more.
Childless woman gets seven sons, the children rich wither away.
6 The Lord kills and gives life, he sends people to hell
and can bring them up from there. 7 The Lord makes poor, and he makes the rich,
he humbles and he exalts. 8 He gets the call up of dust,
and lifts the needy from the ash. He seats them with princes
and give them an honorable place.
For the pillars of the earth belongs to God, he built the world on them.
9 He protects his saints on the road, but the wicked perish in darkness.
For no one is strong in our own power.
10 They that are contrary to the Lord, perish.
He let it thunder upon them from heaven, the Lord judges the ends of the earth.
May He give his king strength and his anointed great power!
What was the spiritual condition when Samuel came forward? As in Norway today, exactly the same.
1. Sam. 4. 12 A man of Benjamin ran from the battle line and came to Shiloh the same day with his clothes torn and dirt on his head. 13 When he arrived, Eli sat on a chair by the road and watched, for he was very concerned about the ark of God. When the man came into the city with the message, there was a wailing cry of the whole city. 14 Eli heard the cry and asked, "What noise is this?" The man hurried over to Eli and told him so. 15 Eli was 98 years old, and he was stiff in his eyes, for he could not see. 16 The man said to him: "I come from the battlefield, I fled from the battle today." When asked Eli: "How is it done, my son?" 17 He who made the bid, said: "Israel fled before the Philistines, and there was great slaughter among the people. Both of your sons, Hofni and Phinehas, were killed, and the ark of God is taken. "18 As soon as he mentioned the ark of God, fell Eli backwards off the chair next to the gate, broke his neck and died, for he was an old and heavy man. He had been a judge in Israel for forty years
Eli was exactly what the leadership in Norway: "stiff in his eyes, for he could not see and he was an old and heavy man."
This is the spiritual state of leadership in Christian Norway. But what was required? A simple little childless woman who wholeheartedly Hanna who was touched by "Jesus". That is what is the solution to everything, be touched by Jesus. That God sends His power to us, his own force to leaky work of God in us and through us.
This is from my commentaries File. 3. 12 I do not mean that I have already achieved this, or are already perfect, but I'm chasing up against it to seize it, because I myself am touched by Christ Jesus.
When even Paul could say that he was not perfect, we too can say that. But he drove towards goal. We are in the middle of a spiritual marathon course the vast majority and not a 100 m. How to reach the goal and the goal in the best possible way? In Jesus we are saved and he will be the center of everything we do. We should just live like Jesus, love Jesus, etc.
13 Brethren, I do not think about myself that I have caught it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and reach for what is ahead,
The sluttfrelsen had he not intervened, it has not yet. It happens when we meet Jesus physically face to face. How important is it to forget and forgive everything he has done. There are sometimes other people will not forget even if one has asked for forgiveness. But one can manage to forget and forgive themselves so I think it is more important than what others say and mean. And we go out to meet the target, we see and walk on.
14 and drives towards the goal and win the prize for which God from on high has called us in Christ Jesus.
Like being on a track sees Paul for the Christian life. Along the way there are wonderful and important experience, but the focus must not be disregarded. It is to get the goal and with a victory wreath around the head. There are no shortcuts or opportunities to cheat in order to reach. And there is a high calling. No one has a higher calling than us Christians. We have in view: 2 Pet.3. 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
15 How should we see it, all of us who have reached maturity. And if you see different on something, God will give you clarity in it.
We Christians will live together not only during the 1000 year Empire and then in eternity. But here and now. But we have come differently to our spiritual maturity and we look differently on many things. But God will provide clarity in this.
16 Let us only so far we have come, keep up the same track!
But it is important to accept other people even go back on what God has shown. It's strange when someone has seen believers baptism, but rejects this and signs up to the State church. State church is overdue to be closed, it has surpassed itself many times. Luther was a wonder-working man of God, but he lived 500 years ago and reformed a lot. But it is totally unbiblical that fair and ugjenfødte shall belong to the same community.
17 Put me as a role model, you too, and look at those who follow the example we have given you.
Paul great role model was Christ. But there is something to be a role model, but something else to live up to it. Paul managed it with his decision and by the Spirit. Paul had continued to follow the regulations and arrangements had led to the hatred, bigotry and party spirit. But Jesus' love had melted his heart after he met her Savior on the road to Damascus (Ap.gj.9.). The love of Jesus had done Paul for a successor and could also have him to model.
18 I have said it often and have to say it again with tears that there are many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.
It's a pain to see that other believers fall short, often time after time. We are a body, when a member suffers and feels pain spread it over all others. Psalm 119 158 I look with disgust at the treacherous, do not keep your word. Unfortunately there are still "Judas" which is among the believers, who do not have the wedding garment on. But we must distinguish between misleading and being misled. And between cheaters and those that fail to.
19 They end up in hell, they have the stomach to the god and takes pride in what is a shame for them, and they are only concerned with earthly things.
It shows, unfortunately, time and again that there are too many who take it easy at all. God is rich NOK for all but one have to open up and let him in.. When pleasure and deeds of the flesh can take root even in the believer's heart and mind. This can and will be lost if one does not repent again (Ezekiel 33).
20 But we have our citizenship in heaven, and from there we expect the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.
We are on the pilgrimage here, the heavenly promised land awaits. We have a civil right down here, but it is temporary and not our real civil rights. It is the new Jerusalem in heaven we be civil rights. We are waiting for Jesus, but he waits for God our Father will say to the Son, go and fetch them. What a day it must be.
21 He will transform our weak and transitory body so it is similar to the body of his in glory. For he has the power to subdue all.
After the fall came death, disease and corruption into. It was not just something about our spiritual life was darkened, and our minds were unenlightened for spiritual truths. Even our bodies are not lagged longer to live forever as was God's idea with us. Therefore, we get a completely new body that we will carry forever, a brand-new. For God nothing is impossible. He who has created everything and sustains everything will one day transform according to his own pleasure and for our good.
