Jannes and Jambres!

2.Tim.3.1. But this you shall know that in the last days it shall come perilous times. 2 For men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, untrustworthy, slanderous, immense, umilde, despisers of good, 4 treacherous, impetuous, opblåste, such as love their lusts higher than God, 5 which has a form of godliness but denying its power - and those you should turn from thee. 6 For among them are wondering themselves into the houses and captures women laden with sins and operated by divers lusts and 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 As Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses received, so is also the truth of the contrary, people who are depraved in their minds and uduelige in faith. 9 However, they should not have more success, for their folly shall be manifest to all, as Hines and grew.



We are accustomed to think that opposition to the gospel are those who oppose and speak against us! By all means, it's that too.



But in the end time to be a lot of resistance against the Gospel and the faithful be as Jannes and Jambres.



"As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so are these men also accept the truth, men of corrupt mind and counterfeit faith, but they will not get very far, for their folly will be easy for anyone to disclose (which will compare their work with God's word), it was also for these two men. " (2 Timothy 3:8-9 RSV)

Jannes and Jambres are mentioned only once in the Bible, of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy. They are not identified by name in the Old Testament, with the rabbinic tradition of Jannes and Jambres, they were among the magicians who opposed Moses and Aaron at the time of Israel out of Egypt took place.

Paul writes under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit on this important topic also in accordance with Jewish tradition and GT classes.

Jannes and Jambres had apparently "miraculous" powers, but unlike Moses and Aaron, who was empowered by God. Was Pharaoh's magicians dishonest, arrogant, sarcastic and demonic.



Hoses



"Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh. And did as the LORD commanded; Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and his servants, and it was a snake. Then Pharaoh summoned the wise men and sorcerers, and they also, the magicians of Egypt did same with their secret arts. For every man threw down his rod and they became serpents. But Aaron's rod swallowed up the other rods. "(Genesis 7:10-12 RSV)



Blood



"Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded, in the sight of Pharaoh and the sight of his servants, he lifted up the rod and struck the water that was in the Nile, And all the water that was in the Nile turned into blood. And the fish in the Nile died, and Nile was corrupted, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile, and there was blood throughout Egypt. But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts, as Pharaoh's heart remained hardened, and he would not listen to them, as Lord had said. "(Genesis 7:20-22 RSV)



The frogs



"So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt. But the magicians did the same with their secret arts, and brought frogs up on the Egyptians." (Genesis 8:6-7 RSV)



Mosquitoes - and magicians who admitted defeat



"Then the Lord said to Moses," Say to Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and strike the dust of the earth, that there may be mosquitoes in all Egypt. "And they did so; Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod and struck the dust of the earth, and there were mosquitoes on humans and animals, all the dust of the earth were mosquitoes throughout Egypt. Magicians tried by their secret arts to produce gnats, but they could not. So it was a mosquito on man and beast. And the magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." (Genesis 8:16-19 RSV)



When we read the story as it will teach us that these were enemies of God in a completely different way. They did not deny miracles, but the famous Lord's witness Moses with both neglecting him by imitating him.



Do not see the similarity of this with a lot going on today?

There are many who believe in God, but they are not followers of Jesus and God's word!



All of the Pentecostal charismatic "family" is becoming as Jannes and Jambres.



Listen to what God's Word says in 1.Sam.15. 22 Then Samuel said, Hath the Lord as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, hørsomhet better than the fat of rams; 23 for rebellion is better than the sin of witchcraft, and despite that is idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has rejected you, so you should not be king.



Disobedience and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. These here, Jannes and Jambres were sorcerers. But there are also "Christians" who do not follow the word of God and Jesus, but believe in signs, wonders and miracles. Obedience is the key, not the belief below.



Is it so strange that this does Paul when he here mentions what should be in the future I think we live in the middle?

Jannes did not deny Moses and what he did directly, but indirectly.

Moses was called by God and was a follower of the Lord's commandments.

Jannes and Jambres were either called or lived according to God's decrees.



Here I see great similarities in what is happening in Christianity throughout the Western world.



It is believed nearly all of God's word, but one is not a follower of Jesus in all areas of their lives. Jannes and Jambres did not deny miracles and wonders.

Jesus said in Matt.16. 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples: Would anyone come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake shall find it. 26 For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world but lose his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?



What it helps to have a national TV channel when not following God's word? When you run with the sin of witchcraft says the word of God.

What it helps to have the largest independent congregation with a 90% rejection of God's word and say it does not apply to us today? Nothing!

There had been much better both for themselves and all others that they had been removed from Christian service.



God's word says both directly and indirectly. Follow Jesus and God's word 100% or let the weather! The Lord will have successors, to preach and live Christ.



Markus 16 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature! 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In My name they will cast out demons, they will speak in tongues, 18 they will take snakes in their hands, and if they drink anything poisonous, it shall not hurt them, the ill will they lay their hands, and they shall be healed. 19 Then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, up into heaven, and sat down at God's right hand. 20 But they went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.



This is our task, but the Lord will not have followers and admirers, but followers of him.

All this is written us many lessons, but the story in the Bible and in the secular world it is very difficult for us to learn from?

We humans are and remain corrupt in ourselves, why we need Jesus. Not just as our Saviour, but also as our Lord.

Kol.2.6. As ye received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 so I rooted and is edifying to him and steadfast in the faith, as ye have learned, rich in it with thanksgiving. 8 See to it that there must be someone who makes you into their prey by worldly wisdom and vain deceit, after the of men, after rudiments of the world and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, 10 And I filled in him, who is the head of all power and authority, 11 he in whom I and was circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, by avklædningen of the flesh body , by the circumcision of Christ, 12 as I was buried with him in baptism, and in that was I and upright with him through faith in the power of God, who raised up him from the dead.



We meet the same with Jesus and the rich young man. He had done everything and was well-situated. But for Jesus, this had less significance.

We can not expect to be able to serve the Lord if we are not willing to sacrifice everything for him. Not just some but all. We can not have any dark areas in your life.

I sacrificed a brilliant football career for the Lord, but it was worth it. Have gotten so much more left. His wife, children, home, church, service, and even more waiting, the eternal glory of God, if I am faithful to the end. This is for everyone!



Matt.19. 27 Peter answered him: Behold we have left all and followed thee: what shall we get? 28 Then said Jesus unto them, Verily I say unto you, ye that have followed me, I shall in regeneration when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands for my sake will receive mangefold again and inherit eternal life. 30 But many that are first shall be last and the last first. Do you and I figured with all aspects of the gospel? Or will you be fooled by Jannes and Jambres delusion that is kept alive today, not least by the Pentecostal Charismatic Christianity as we see today! Mistake is to believe in but not simultaneously be a follower of Jesus.
