What really happened with Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart around his two "big" fall from 1987-1988 and the last in 1991?

Photo of Frances Swaggart. After all their mistakes as Jimmy Swaggart made through actually several years, from about 1986-87 to 1991 then pardoned Jimmy unprecedented wife him. Thrown not from him, but stood by his side. It is admirable and shows nothing out of the ordinary!

 

I really have waited 25 years to pronounce me about this because I was actually Director of Jimmy Swaggart Minstries then. Has talked privately with Jimmy, eaten dinner with him and knows when a little round it all!

Matt. 5. 27 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt not commit adultery. 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee! for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, than for your whole body should be cast into hell. 30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off and throw it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, than for your whole body to go into hell (the basic text, Gehenna - Hades).

Pay particular attention to these words of Jesus: "I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her in his heart."

I've been actually talked privately with Swaggart and out to dinner. He even said that he had a physical affair, this I believe him. But he takes one or two things that were unclean, where he visited the prostitute and gets to look at things like scripture warns us against. It was a breach of trust, where he succumbed to his own flesh. Unfortunately, so are we people if we do not take us in care, so that the evil can not touch us!

1 Joh.b. 5. 18 We know that whosoever is born of God does not sin; but he that is born of God keeps himself, and the evil touches him.

I know this not to be taken lightly, but with Jimmy Swaggart case, we can not do it differently than it was, so he told me. And besides, I've heard he talked about this. He was stupid enough to go to the prostitute that he paid, but he had no physical contact or intimacy with them!

In fact the second time there was a police man stopped him, when he drove wobbly and had a prostitute in the car. But he never came further than this, just as the Lord stopped him!

How could Jimmy Swaggart fall so? He who preached for so many and had such a thriving and wonderful service to God?

Arrogance is the real factor, as I see it! God opposes the proud, but humble receive grace. It is when we are humble and realize that all that we have and what we get, it is through and by the grace of God, nothing else.

 

Jak 4.6 Wherefore he saith, God resists the proud, but to the humble he gives grace.

What is posetivt with Swaggart, is that everyone around him forgave him. Nothing came in "shambles". Kona, family, church and now serving his Lord as far as I know it 100% together with their family and church. Better and more glorious than it can not be.

Final Comment:

Has now written the third article about Jimmy Swaggart case, and now vindicated. Comes a fourth, it goes on reparation, and possibly not redress. What scripture says? Personally I think that Jimmy Swaggart is what the Lord would have him behind the podium and behind the piano!
