No. 855:
Hebrews 10 25 that we should not keep us away when the church collected mistranslated. This is like so different in the bible wrong / misleading translated!
It says in Hebrews 10. 25 And let us not give away when our congregation gathered, as some have the habit. Let us encourage one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The basic text states: Heb. 10. 25 We should not refrain meet as troessøsken as some have the habit. Let us encourage one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (freely translated by me).
The apostle Paul says to his friend and co-worker just before he died that he would "come to me as fast as you can. and books, above all the parchments "
Why parchments? That was what Paul used when he wrote half the New Testament, and everyone else. But what he wrote, is unfortunately in many cases incorrect and misleading. Is this done proven? Both yes and no I think. This is what we want to straighten up so that the whole Bible, especially the New Testament is translated correctly.
It is not used word for church is Ecclesia, parish church.
Therefore graded completely wrong to think like we do today. At that time they had not fixed hall, but meet in homes, Solomon, rented synagogues, schools and others. But they had no "fixed". Therefore, it was so important for the keeping in touch between themselves and thus strengthen each other.
It is this contact that we believers have through the days, weeks, months. and the year where we care for each other. Pray for one another, sharing bread and sacrament which we shall not squandered.
The word used for the church in our Norwegian Bible, is not it aground text. The word used is: episynagōgēn meaning:
English: a gathering together Norwegian: The coming together.
We will not refrain to get together as believers. Why have they translated this word as so many other words apparently completely wrong? It gets you ask those who have translated the bible. It is their responsibility.
How is it translated in Norway's best Bible translation?
We see in Arne Jordly his Bible translation:
Heb. 10. 25 And let us not neglect to get along with each other, so some of you have the habit, but comforting one another, and so much more as you see that the time is approaching.
Final Comment:
Hold me so I can get continue my project with Bible translation. This verse as I have explained and translated it. Harmonizes then with all other verses in the New Testament that believers gather everywhere. There they were, they were church. Where they were not, there was no congregation. It is we who are believers which is the church, and where we can talk and pray and have emblems. This can and will happen everywhere! Where we have time opportunity and possibility. And it is this opportunity that we must protect and not let go from us!
Heb. 10. 25 We should not refrain meet as troessøsken as some have the habit. Let us encourage one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
We can pray and with each other 24 hours a day. Sharing community everywhere, whether it is in the mountains, houses in the parish facilities, at work, in homes, yes simply where we are, where is the church and we as believers should share fellowship and bread with each other where we are at any time!
