No. 1599:
It was the belief cubits e who saved the robber on the cross - but for the rest of us it is not so!
Picture of the hand to Jesus and the robber on the cross. Jesus had only done good all his life while the robber was just evil. On the cross, the robber found salvation and died blessed!
For most others who believe, Christian life is to work on their salvation the "normal"! To believe otherwise, one is entrusted in his belief.
Luke 23 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed on him, saying, Are you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us! 40 But the other answered and rebuked him, saying, "Do not you even fear God, you who are under the same judgment?" 41 and we are right for we get what our deeds have dismayed; but this one has not done anything wrong. 42 And he said, Jesus! Remember me when you come to your kingdom! 43 And he said to him, Verily I say to you, Today you shall be with me in Paradise.
This robber on the cross - got an opportunity - once to be saved!
We others get a lot of opportunities to both be saved and live as a believer. Then it is expected and required something completely different. It is clear that God is gracious and it is probably not only this one robber on the cross who has had an opportunity once. There are probably many, not few who have been saved and taken their refuge for Christ and God in the last days and moments of their lives!
But this is not the "norm" but the exception. For the vast majority, the call comes several times and the walk with the Lord can be long. Not short as for the robber on the cross, but through many years and also decades!
Believing and claiming that only faith alone as savior-when God demands fruit of our lives-becomes nothing more than an absurd, false and unbiblical.
God has meant that lives and deeds are followed by fruit bearing fruit worthy of repentance. We are no longer the children of darkness and devil, but children of God. We are the children of light and are placed in the kingdom of God's beloved Son!
Luther would have removed James, when he did not understand what Jacob passed and proclaimed, therefore liver actually the Protestants that actually works belong to a right and healthy Christian life.
James 2 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, but has no deeds? Can the faith save him? 15 If any brother or sister is naked and fed for the day, 16 and some of you say to them, Go in peace, warm yourselves and meet you. but you do not give them what the body needs, what's the use of it? 17 Thus and with faith, if it does not have works, it is dead in itself. 18 But one can say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith from my works! 19 You think God is one; you are doing well The devils also believe and shake. 20 And will you know, you bad man, that faith without deeds is useless? 21 Abraham, our father, was not justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac to the altar? 22 You see that faith worked with his deeds, and that faith was perfected by deeds. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled, which says, Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that man is justified by works, and not by faith alone. 25 In the same way, Rahab, the harlot; was she not justified by deeds when she received the emails and let them out another way? 26 For as the body is dead without spirit, so faith is dead without deeds.
Christianity consists of two elements, confession and conduct of conduct.
As society around does not accept the rules of conduct, they are abolished by religion. This is unfortunately a celebrity!
The world is we as believers are called to influence with our good deeds, this is what Scripture says and teaches.
Matt. 5. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven!
Titus 3 8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that those who believe in God may be careful to maintain good works. This e r good and profitable unto men.
In other words, we are saved - to do good deeds!
This that not deeds and behavior rules belong to the new life is nothing but a lie, and a diversion from the Evil!
Whoever believes in God, what shall he do, says the scripture? "Careful to maintain good works. »
In other words, this is absolutely essential for the saved and happy new believer.
If we do not bear fruit, we will be cut off from salvation teacher writing. In other words, after repentance. If we do not live in accordance with God's word, God will "set" us as heirs - the heirs of God and the fellow believers of Jesus Christ!
The whole scripture gives an overall testimony that it is by faith and by deeds-good deeds we are saved. It is fully possible to live in sin after salvation, making sin to death. And that way get lost.
If a stealer lives with a person of the same sex as himself. Or after a divorce marries again. Driver with abusive or lying daily. When is a come out or into the relationship that ultimately will take you not to heaven but to perdition!
1 Cor. 6. 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Dad does not want to! Neither wizards nor idolaters, nor marriages, nor lovers, nor those who sins against nature, 10 or thieves, or oaths, or drinkers, or backbreakers, or robbers shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And so it came to pass with you; but you have washed yourselves, you are sanctified, you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.
Here we see that a profane life after salvation - makes us lose salvation!
Final Comment:
The ancient doctrine that has much of Calvinism in itself just does not hold:
"Once saved - always dead!"
Salvation is something continuous, which we must live in every day. Where we need new mercy every day, but at the same time it is a way of life that allows us to lose salvation in extreme harmony. We simply have to work daily on our salvation, and go on with God to be preserved!
From my commentaries Philip Wiper letter 2. 12 Beloved, you have always obeyed while I was with you. So be it now more when I'm gone and work on their salvation with fear and trembling!
Paul describes the church as a father speaks to his children when it should begin to stand on their own feet and fend for themselves. One is present but also gone. Now it's up to the child - like here the church - to show what it wants and ability. The prerequisite is there, but further direction and direction determines and determines one himself.
13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do according to his good will.
But Paul comes with a sense of love that he had experienced himself; It is God who allows one to serve and love Him. We will take our provisions and have our goals, but all this is God behind. It is in him we live, move, touch and exist.
14 Do all without dissatisfaction and objections,
If not everything comes from heart and one wishes it, then one dissatisfies and one has objections to doing the will of God. To serve the Lord is with pleasure, if one does something for a must is the dead deeds, the Scriptures say.
15 so that you may be impeccable and pure, the children of God without error, in the midst of a cruel and desolate family. You shine among them as lights in the world
The children of this world thrive in the dark and with sin. For a believer, one thrives but to be the opposite, living as a child of light, something as one is. We read in the Sermon on the Mount, where we find the same standard as Paul describes the believer. Paul says; so you can be impeccable and clean.
Jesus says in Matt.5. 48 Be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
16 and hold on to the word of life, and I will have the praise of Christ's day that my struggle and my work of life have not been in vain.
Paul was aiming for all that he did, the day of Jesus Christ. The day we are going to meet Jesus, be his equal and will regain what has happened with our lives as believers, whether good or evil. Shall we get something in return that day, it depends on how we place ourselves above God's word and align our lives by living then.
