Unibuss – Oslo Municipality's own bus company – survived even with 2.4 billion in debt because they receive help and support from taxpayers!

I have worked at Unibuss for 16 years.
In many ways, I gave my "best" years to driving buses here in Oslo.
The management was unhappy with me, where boss bully Per Christian Bing fired me because I played Christian radio.

It is people like this who have driven this bus company to what it is today.
Tragic that such people have been allowed to run their scheming game through the years.

2.4 Billion in debt, but received support and help from Ruter, Sporveien and Oslo Municipality!

Ruter recommends reconstruction.
Unibuss, which accounts for 65 percent of all bus departures in the Oslo area, has major financial problems. The solutions being worked on involve either a forced reconstruction or bankruptcy.

Unibuss is conducting a witch hunt on its own employees.
In short
Unibuss has been sued in at least 16 cases since 2020. The conflicts were with employees who believe they were dismissed on invalid grounds.
Three cases were won by employees, three by Unibuss, while ten cases ended in settlements, which is often common in labor law cases.
The Norwegian Confederation of Bus Workers criticizes Unibuss for bad culture and difficult management, while CEO Rønning rejects the criticism.
In the latest case, a bus driver was fired for disabling sound alarms that are supposed to warn of safety deficiencies.

“It was a high number,” says Per Ole Melgård, leader of the Norwegian Confederation of Bus Workers’ Union in Oslo and the surrounding area.

Three of the cases were won by the employees. One of them is not legally binding as it is awaiting appeal in Borgarting Court of Appeal. Three cases were won by Unibuss. A full ten of the cases ended in
Avisa Oslo has previously discussed one of the conflicts that ended in settlements. Then the bus driver received a sum of money equivalent to 13 months of severance pay to quit his job. It cost Unibuss ½ Million kroner.

A dysfunctional bus company that has been saved by Ruter, Sporveien and Oslo Municipality!

It is incredible that no form of investigation has been set up and asked how Unibuss. As well as Sporveien, Ruter and Oslo Municipality have saved Unibuss!

The management itself is hateful towards some employees.
What is needed to have a responsible and profitable bus company is missing.
What is the reason for this?
It is certainly complex, but without a doubt it is because they do not have the competence and sense of responsibility that is needed.
They are simply a dysfunctional bus company that I have warned against a long time ago.

Why hasn't Unibuss gone bankrupt? All other bus companies would have gone bankrupt with 2.4 billion in debt.

Unibuss has a debt of 2.4 billion kroner.
The ruling from the district court states that the bus company has a debt of 2.4 billion kroner as of April 30.
In reality, they own 0, as everything is tied up in contracts etc. Which means that in the event of bankruptcy they would have in reality caused others far more than 2.4 billion in loss of value and reshuffles etc.

Route manager Bernt Reitan Jenssen tells Aftenposten that he believes Unibuss will avoid bankruptcy.
Bankruptcy is the worst option, as it looks now, according to Reitan Jenssen.
There could soon be talk of new public funds being injected to save the remains of the company, and secure bus services in the capital for the time being.

This is an article from 24.04.2024 several months before Unibuss was "rescued".
What they are being told is, you can do whatever you want Unibuss.
We, Ruter, Sporveien and Oslo Municipality are going to "rescue" you anyway.

The mess that Unibuss, Sporveien, Ruter and Oslo Municipality are making is affecting employees of Unibuss.
The taxpayers who are keeping this bus company artificially alive!
When will it end and Unibuss be liquidated?
Time will tell, hopefully that day is not far off!

Unibuss is no longer technically bankrupt, but the company has been in a state of crisis and has
