Nr. 595:
It is our will - decision that determines whether we live a life free from sin or sin !
The prophet Daniel set out , decided and took a will - determination to live a pure and holy that lasted a lifetime. Here is Daniel as a fairly young man removed to Babylon , but where he served God and live holy and pure . Despite the fact that he was led into exile against his will . The secret to serve God is to make the most of every situation and see the possibility of God.
The prophet Daniel , a model and had a life lesson for us all !
Daniel 1 8 But Daniel set their faces that he would not defile themselves with the royal food and the wine he drank , and he asked the chief of the eunuchs that he might be free so as to be defiled .
Daniel was only approx. 17 years old when he took this willingness - decision , but everything was set for him to do this? Of course not .
2 Kings 25 1 In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month , on the tenth day of the month , Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came with all his army, against Jerusalem , and pitched against it, and they built forts against it round about. 2 And the city was besieged unto king Zedekiah 's eleventh year . 3 On the ninth day of the month the famine was so big in the city that the country people had nothing to eat . / 4 And the city was broken up , and all the men of war fled by night through the gate between the two walls near the king's garden, though the Chaldeans were against the city round about , and took the road to nowhere. / 5 And the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho : and all his army scattered up and left him . 6 And they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah and gave judgment upon him . / 7 And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and his eyes of Zedekiah , and bound him with fetters of brass, and carried him to Babylon . 8 And in the fifth month , on the seventh day of the month - it was Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon nineteenth year - came Nebuzaradan , captain of the guard , one of the king of Babylon men, unto Jerusalem . 9 And he burnt the house of the Lord and the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem - every great house - he burned with fire. 10 And all the army of the Chaldeans that the captain of the guard had with him , broke down the walls around Jerusalem. 11 imperial guard , captain of the guard carried away the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the crowd . 12 But some of the poorest in the country did captain of the guard will be back as farmers, and farmers . 13 The Babylonians broke the brass in the house and the bases, and the brazen sea in the house , and carried the brass of them to Babylon . 14 They took the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass that had been used for the service.
Daniel was among those who came to Babylon from Israel
Daniel 1.1. In Judah Jehoiakim third reign , Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand , and also a part of the vessels of the house of God , and he brought them to the temple of his god - he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god . 3 And the king said to Aspen , his chief of the eunuchs , that he should take with him some of the children of Israel , both of the seed royal and of the nobles , 4 young boys who were without blemish and appear beautiful , and with the ability to dedicate himself all wisdom and gain knowledge and become literate in science , and who was capable to serve in the king's palace , and that they should instructed in ur writing and languages . 5 And the king appointed what they should have each day of the royal food and the wine he drank , and commanded that they should nurture for three years , and when these years were , they should be servants of the king . 6 Among them were the sons of Judah, Daniel , Hananiah , Mishael and Azariah . 7 And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names : Daniel he called Belteshazzar , to Hananiah Shadrach, to Mishael, Meshach, and Azariah Abed -nego .
But based on this , so Daniel took a will - decision to follow God's words whatever the cost would . This went into the deep , when the decision is not only applied when he was in his youth , but for life !
Daniel had the best conditions for taking such election and become the man of God and the Prophet he was ? Of course not . He came out of a people 's disobedience against the Lord , God's punishment went over them and he was very young . Yet , despite this , he decided to put himself present that he would not defile himself . The external circumstances are not essential but heart determination .
How touching and changing God 's ?
We read : 1 Tess . 5 23 But he , the God of peace , sanctify you wholly , and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless at the Lord Jesus Christ !
God will sanctify us through and through , but Satan will deceive and ensnared us. Satan can do and fool even the "best" and most wholehearted believer if he does not take himself last and fit .
1 Jn . b 5 18 We know that whosoever is born of God does not sin : but he that is begotten of God , takes care of himself , and that wicked one toucheth him not .
Although "the world ' best Bible teachers Derek Prince was deceived by Satan when his first wife died and he remarried to a divorcee . King David was tricked , Samson was tricked and countless others. Therefore it is so important to take care of themselves .
Derek Prince was a good idea , but not the prophet Daniel . Why ? He took a provision when he was 17 he lived all live on . This is the example for us. But is it so important to follow God's word to the letter ? And all my life ?
We can speak against others, and point out others' mistakes , sins and shortcomings. And so it has become today where apparently they also live in sin , not so much with his life etc. have progress. I can not and tries neither to give a satisfactory answer to all this. But I know for myself , to follow God's word carefully is the alpha and omega to experience God 's blessing , hallelujah !
There are other sins than to marry a divorced or separated remarry . But there's no denying that as an ardent believer they are "small" and accepted the sins that are the most dangerous really. Let me take another example :
Your Porn is how I see it outside of divorce and remarriage Satan most wiles to lure and alluring us believers who will serve the Lord . Will write a separate article on this coming after this .
Final comment :
Our mental life consists of three parts :
1 ) Sense .
2 ) Feelings .
3 ) Our will.
All these three components will God holy and make us all off.
We read in Salem 23 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
The basic text says that he restores my soul. That is exactly what God does, he makes us all as human beings in spirit, soul and body . This he did with Daniel , and he will do with you and me . It was Daniels Will of Decision which ruled that he lived a life free from sin or sin. So it is with us, that is when God will intervene our will fully, we will be victorious believers .
From my commentaries Philip Wiper letter 2 12 My beloved , as you have always obeyed, not as I was with you . So be it even more now in my absence , work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
Paul refers to the church as a father speaks to his children when it should begin to stand on their own two feet and fend for themselves. A is present but also gone. Now it's really up to the child - that the church here - to show what it will and capabilities. The premise is there, but on the way and direction determines and sets oneself.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.
But Paul comes from a fact that he had experienced himself : it is God who enables one to serve and love him . We will take our decisions and have our goals , but all this is God behind . In him we live and move , touch and go .
14 Do everything without complaining or arguing ,
Will not it all from the heart and a desire even as it makes a of dissatisfaction and have objections to doing God 's will. To serve the Lord with joy, if one does something one must have it dead works, says the Scripture.
15 that ye may be blameless and pure , children of God without fault , amidst a crooked and perverse generation. You shine among them as lights in the world
The world's children thrive in darkness and sin. For a believer happy one but to be the opposite , by living as a child of light which one also . We read in the Sermon on the Mount , where we find the same standard as Paul describes the believer. Paul says, that ye may be blameless and pure .
Jesus says in Matt.5 . 48 Be ye therefore perfect , even as your heavenly Father is perfect .
16 and hold fast the word of life , and I'll get the praise of Christ today that my hard work and my life's work has not been in vain .
Paul aims for all that he did, Jesus Christ. The day we will meet Jesus and be his equal and will receive what has happened to our lives as believers , whether good or evil . Shall we get something in return that day , it depends upon how we place ourselves above God's Word and align our lives by living then .
17 If I now even be sacrificed when I make my holy service of your faith up as a sacrifice , I am still happy and rejoice with you all.
The GT had a number of sacrifices that one did and practiced all the time. Now in the NT we have an offering to produce ; ourselves. It is a pleasure that for the individual and it brings joy to other believers that we go the way of God and doing God 's will.
18 So also you must be glad and rejoice with me .
The word that Paul mentions here joy shall be upon and be a part of all the believer's life and service to the Lord and each other. Joy is also part of the new natural substance when joy is coming next for love of the fruit of the Spirit .
