No. 1652:
Nobina at Mortensrud here in the Capital has now got probably the "best" winter buses - Yutong - which has the battery pack not on the roof, but on the framework!

Of all the EL Buses I have driven, the Yutong is the very best, safest and in many ways the most functional!
Of course there are others, but then the Yutong - which has the battery pack not on the roof, but on the framework.
So down at the floor, they are much more stable and suitable for Norwegian winter conditions.
Battery management system, power management and vehicle management unit
The battery management system (BMS) continuously monitors the condition of the batteries. This includes voltage and charge state. The unit ensures communication, safety, cell balance and management control for the batteries, while also providing a communication interface with the application equipment.
Where the batteries are located around the framework.
This is a screenshot of where and how the batteries are located on the buses.
The other buses that run here in Norway.
When we talk about electric buses, the batteries are mostly on the roof.
This is not functionally good and in Norwegian winter conditions this will obviously not make the bus as reliable and robust to cope with a Norwegian winter.
In the fall of 2025, Oslo's commitment to emission-free public transport will be strengthened when Nobina, the largest public transport company in the Nordic region, purchases 76 brand new electric buses.
- The electric buses will provide Oslo's population with a modern, reliable and emission-free public transport service, all year round, says Karine Nordseth, CEO of Nobina Norway.
The buses will be put into service on the 14 bus lines Nobina operates in the capital. The new electric buses are equipped with the market's latest technology in safety and accessibility.
Well suited for winter operation
All 76 buses, of which 54 are articulated buses, are fully electric. The new buses are supplied by the manufacturer Yutong, which already has buses in operation in several places in Norway.
– We look forward to putting the new electric buses into service. The electric buses are equipped with the latest technology on the market, and we are expanding our electric bus fleet with new buses that are well suited to Norwegian winter conditions. The articulated buses have four-wheel drive, which makes them robust and reliable, says Nordseth.
Safety and universal design
The new buses will have modern information surfaces, better comfort and meet the requirements for universal design.
– On behalf of all customers, we are very much looking forward to these buses coming into service and ensuring that everyone can travel with new, universally designed and emission-free electric buses, says Snorre Lægran, Planning Director at Ruter.
