Today my wife was taken from A Hus where she died 1 week ago 28 August 2025
I got to meet my wife today at Helsfyr here in Oslo in a so-called sewing as it is called.
Now it is barely a week until the funeral in Østre Aker Church on Wednesday 10 September at 12!
Being alone where my wife lay dead, where I do not want to publish any pictures of this.
For me personally, in the middle of it all, it was a special experience to see my wife die after 38 years of marriage.
When we have lived so close to each other, and shared everything.
Where we have had 3 children and 9 grandchildren.
Shared the faith in Jesus, and everything. Yes, absolutely everything.
We then drove from A Hus in Lørenskog to Helsfyr here in Oslo.
To Østre Gravlund Helsfyr where Berit lies until the funeral in 6 days.
Gradually, more good thoughts also come to me.
Where I am so grateful for everything.
But the greatest thing is that Berit is now in Paradise together with Jesus and all the saints who have died in the faith.
2 Tim. 4. 6 I gladly let myself be sacrificed, because the time of my departure is approaching.
7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and endured in the faith.
8 Finally, there is a crown of righteousness waiting for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day. And not only to me, but also to those who have loved his appearing.
Berit is now finished with all the battles, struggles, victories, defeats and everything that belongs to this earthly life. Now she awaits only and alone the final salvation and the crown of victory!
Berit received the best possible entrance to paradise.
Where she had 0 fear of death and everything that awaited her.
She died with me and the children around her.
Read here, for comfort and encouragement.

“Precious in the eyes of the Lord is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116, 15
What is precious in the eyes of the Lord must truly be valuable. It is not just anything that the Lord values highly. But here we hear that he values the death of his saints highly! There is a vast difference between when someone who belongs to the Lord dies and when a worldly person dies.
Where are the dead in the time between death and resurrection?
There is a resurrection for all people. The saved will rise to the resurrection of life, but the lost to the resurrection of judgment. John 5:29.
But where are the dead before this happens?
Here the word of God speaks very clearly. Those who do not live with God go to the realm of the dead. There there is silence. No one praises the Lord in the realm of the dead. (Psalm 115:17) There the dead are kept in custody until the resurrection of judgment. 2 Peter 3:7.
It is quite different with those who live with God. They do not go to the realm of the dead when they die. They are “absent from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8. They can testify and say regarding death: “I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.” Psalm 116:9. In contrast to those who descend into the silence of the grave, they testify: “We will bless the Lord from now on and forevermore.” Psalm 115:18.
The apostle Paul knows that when he leaves this life, he will be with Christ.
We often talk about living for the Lord. We think less that when we die, we also die for the Lord! Romans 14:8.
A Christian does not avoid physical death if he does not live until Jesus comes again. But he does not die when he is separated from the body. He goes to Jesus!
Jesus is the resurrection and the life! That is why he says of all those who believe in him: “Though he die, yet shall he live!” John 11:25.
Death is the great liberation for all who believe in Jesus. Therefore, it is highly valued by God. It is God’s will that we who believe in Jesus should also highly value it!
