Nr. 483:
USA `s premier and most famous Pastor Rick Warren, son tragically died during suicide when he shot himself!
Psalm 116:15 dieters with the Lord is the death of his saints.
Rick Warren
Matthew Warren
Here is what they write on their website:
Pastor Rick Warren and his family has suffered a tremendous tragedy when their 27-year-old son was found dead last Friday night. According to an emotional letter sent to parishioners at Saddleback Valley Community Church, Warren says the cause of death as suicide. 27-year-old Matthew Warren has long struggled with mental health problems, and this should be the cause of the tragic suicide.
The letter tells openly about the cause of his son's death and the problems that led to Matthew no longer bear to live: "Matthew was an incredibly nice, gentle young man with compassion for others, and his soft appearance encouraged and comforted many. Unfortunately, he had a mental illness that resulted in depression and suicidal thoughts, "the Saddleback Church in its statement.
Matthew Warren was found dead of what appeared to be suicide by fire at his home in Mission Viejo, California, said Deputy Sheriff Dan Aikin at the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Department. The supposed spliced himself at. 10 am Friday morning. The sheriff department was called to his home the afternoon about 5:15, said Aikin NBC News. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday 9 Now april 2013.
"No words can express the anguished sorrow we feel right now," Warren wrote in the letter. "He had a brilliant intellect and a gift to feel what that felt uncomfortable or bar in grief, in a room. That way he could reach the relevant people and give them help and encouragement."
"Despite America's best doctors, medicines, advisor, and prayers for healing, he was not cured of his mental illness," continued Warren in the letter to members. "Today, after a fun night with Kay and me, he took his life in his home in a desperate moment."
Here in Norway we also have similar tragic events, here is a family tragedy. Let us all pray for and with each other in this time dear Christian brothers and sisters.
Daniel Karlsen tragic death
We know Daniel Karlsen tragic death. First killed by his own son, then took his son's life. There is so much that is difficult also the faithful within its ranks.
Daniel Karlsen also became very ill after a stroke. There is no doubt that through this he had an impaired judgment. When such things happen, it is extremely important that others set up more than ever. Life is unfortunately not always shining, for none of us. But with the Lord there is an output at all, even from trials, case and blank Dead!
How could this happen?
2Sam 12:19 When David saw that his servants whispered among themselves, he realized that the child was dead: and he said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
We read about King David who lost several of his sons, and it was disobedience in King Davis lives that really caused her son's death. The sons also had their own choice, but through our influence, so they take their choice. Therefore it is so important that the we as parents take good and proper management! This here is a large and complex subject. But what are in my heart, it is that we all need and should be role models. And pray for and with each other. Then we need to put on God's armor now more than ever
From my commentaries Ephesians 6 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power!
So it is that Paul skips from the human and natural part of the spiritual. But all this goes together. The word of God encourages us to be strong and be overcome. There we are by being obedient to God org his words and put his mighty power. Even in the Old Testament was the powerful promises for it to be obedient as we find such in 5th Genesis 28, how much more in the new covenant!
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may stand against the wiles of the devil.
Here we put on God's armor. What it is and incorporates coming in the next verses. We should not just put on some parts of the armor, but the armor. But there are so many believers who never comes out or goes into spiritual battle that this is something they can not completely relate to. It is only when one has been in fights that realize how important and vital this is. Have you been to struggle and suffer defeat, they will do everything one can to not be defeated in the next fight!
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The real enemies are evil spirits who are led by the devil. There are evil spirits of different orders of magnitude and positions. There are demonic world rulers who operate in this darkness that the world finds itself in. It is a struggle against "evil spirits in high places". That is, they belong to the spirit world, and thus they are eerily dangerous and insidious. Satan appears in many different ways, both as an angel of light (2 Cor 11.14) and as a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8). He's dangerous when he appears as an angel, disguised as a messenger of the Gospel.
God's word says about the end times: "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons. It happens at the hypocrisy of false teachers, who are branded in their own conscience "1 Tim 4.1 to 2. Heresy has thus its origin in evil spirits, and heresies are affected by, or under the influence of evil spirits. Therefore we can say that there is a battle against people in and of themselves, but the devil and evil spirits using or abusing people in their fight against God and Christians.
God's word does not deny that we have a sinister opponent who along with horrific evil spirits will do everything possible to deceive God's children. But we know that Jesus disarmed the evil spirits when he triumphed at Calvary (Col. 2:15). Although the devil and his spiritual army is defeated, it is not judgment executed yet. Therefore, they have yet another time to seduce and tempt us humans, but the judgment of them have already passed.
But there are also different spirits we face. We can divide them.
1) The powers and authorities.
2) The world rulers of this darkness.
3) Evil spirits in high places.
Here we meet three different areas of the enemy armies that will fight and disturb us. Two of the secret to victory is to know ourselves and our own momentum. And know the enemy and his impact.
1) Here we meet people "Face to Face". Why will not the media and everything else write and relate factual and objective to us believers and objectively? Satan is behind.
2) There is a Spirit that the Bible describes Satan as the Spirit Antichrist `s Ghost, the Spirit is at work in the sons of disobedience works and reigns in this world. The opposite of God's Spirit, we say.
3) Here are the demons and fallen angels. Demons are like "little" men at 1 \ 2 m if one were to see them visible to the eye. The fallen angels are demons again and can even multiply, we read in 1 Genesis 6 The assumption has been estimated to rule this world before with Lucifer. We read several places in Scripture that demons innfiltrert and occupied people. While the fallen angels went so far as to have sex with women and had children with them, they had a chance to reproduce. But they are spiritual beings who can be both visible and invisible to the eye sacrifice!
1. Genesis 6 4 At that time and since, too, there were giants on the earth. For god's sons lived with the daughters of men and had children by them. Those were the mighty men of old, the famous.
Man gives birth to girls fighting, they are the Son of God has other genetic conditions that are stronger and different people after the fall.
King David exterminated those who survived the flood, and today is the spiritual people and not flesh and blood,
2. Samuel 21 18 Then came the new battle with the Philistines, at Gob. There felled Hushathite of Shoo-seed a man named Saf and was a descendant of Rafa. 19 Once again, it came to battle with the Philistines at Gob. Elhanan son of Ja'are-oregim of Bethlehem, killed as Goliath of Gath, who had a spear shaft as thick as a weaver's beam. 20 Since it came to battle at Gath. There was a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, twenty-four fingers and toes in all. He also belonged to Rafa's husband. 21 The man taunted Israel. But Jonathan, the son of David's brother Shimea, killed him. 22 These four belonged to the sons of Rapha in Gath. David and his men killed them.
23. 21 He cast a huge Egyptian. Egyptian had a spear in his hand, but Benaiah went against him with a stick, plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand and killed him with his own spear.
It is only at the end of the great tribulation that these spiritual dimensions will reveal his true self to all people. Until then we are their biggest rivals and they are our hardest and biggest opponents. But Jeus have defeated them on the cross once and for all. It is well and good to know.
Do also remember that Satan is very concerned about this so he put out lies that are not true about this. See here: According to ZetaTalk Davids grandmother had been raped or abused as sex slave by an Anunnaki-soldier, and had then given birth to a hybrid (David's grandmother). It was thus Anunnaki blood in the veins of David, and as a child he had by her mother learned to hate the Giants. This is just a giant hoax!
This is from my commentaries Colossians Dispenser Letter 2 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them up to the scorn and derision when he triumphed over them in it.
Satan and demons has had on our lives. We were in the dark and thrived in the dark and was Satan's property. But they were disarmed and moved forward as liars, accusers and without real power. Satan and the demon had been ravaged long and hard enough. But not anymore, now they were defeated. The victory is complete. God the Father is fulfilled through Jesus' work at Calvary. We have sins forgiven and God can take us to the grace and adopt us into his family as his own children. And Satan and demon has no real power anymore, they are living on borrowed time! Jesus resetting of the law for us believers. It does not long for us, only grace in Christ Jesus.
13 Therefore take the whole armor of God, that ye may resist in the evil day and to stand after having won everything.
Therefore encourage apostle believers to take God's armor on so that they can resist in the evil day (v. 13). The days are different. Some days we look back with joy, others we would like to forget. The days to come, we know nothing about, but experience shows that some will be good other evil. We should note that the devil is the strategist and often find a day when we feel everything is hard and heavy, when he comes with his wiles and temptations to try to cause us to fall.
Especially worse for the people of God is persecution times. In our time there are many in the world who are persecuted for their Christian faith, and the world is experiencing more martyrs than any time in history. Pursuing Reading Time will culminate at the Antichrist come and the great tribulation. Therefore it is important that we take the whole armor of God, that we may be standing.
14 Stand now ready with truth as a belt around his waist and with righteousness as breastplate,
The apostle uses the Roman soldier's armor as a picture of the battle we are in. It also seems as if he uses the same order as the soldier used to take on this armor.
"Arise then girded with truth belt around his waist and weather breastplate of righteousness" (v. 14). Starting with the belt and the breastplate. Belt should keep the long clothes up so that both were ready to move and ready for battle. Breastplate to cover and protect the vital organs such as the heart and lungs. When it speaks of 'truth belt ", it means that one should be honest and sincere in their journey, both in word and deed. A Christian've accepted the truth, Jesus, why must he in his life reflect this truth by being truthful and honest in all his ways. Only then is he able to go in the game. But he must also be wearing the "breastplate of righteousness". It must be a matter of objective justice, that is, the imputed righteousness that God imputes a sinner who take refuge in Jesus Christ. It shall be a defense against conscience and Satan's accusations. Therefore it is important that a Christian, which is imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ, living as righteous in all life's situations and conditions and likewise live a true and honest life among all people. Truth belts are relying on the truth and always let it rule in life and learning.
Joh.e. 8. 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. "36 So if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed. Righteousness is life and learn match. It is when we practice what we preach, we are strong.
1. Cor. 9. 23 But all I do for the gospel's sake, that I can even come to that.
24 Know ye not that they which are in a race, everyone runs, but only one wins the prize. So run your race you win it! 25 An athlete must deny themselves everything. He does it to win a wreath that fades, we need to win a wreath that will never wither. 26 I would not run without a goal, and I am not like a boxer who beats the air. 27 No, I'm fighting against myself and forces the body to obey, lest I who have preached to others, even to be rejected.
15 and be like shoes on your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Moreover, the Apostle mentions footwear and says: "Ha like shoes on your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace" (v. 5). Footwear is important in the fight. The Roman soldier had girded feet with sandals or shoes. These were often studded with nails so he could get a good grip. Here comparable footwear with the gospel of peace. The Gospel brings peace with God and peace in the heart of a good conscience. This peace is again a fruit of the righteousness of faith. Therefore, the Christian should always be ready to preach the gospel wherever they came. The famous ekseget Bengel says: "The Christian Soldier feet are fixed by the gospel so he can not be upset away from their place or shy."
Rom. 5. 1. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
16 Grip above all the shield of faith, with what you can quench all the fiery darts.
The shield was large, oblong shield which covered nearly the whole person. There were usually of wood but with a thick coating of leather. Fire arrows were enmeshed with a combustible substance that high or tow. They were dipped in pitch or tar to light up when they were ejected. However, it was difficult to get ignited lærtrekket the shield. When arrows hit this, they bounced off and fell to the ground and passed out. In the same way a Christian faith protect against the Devil's temptations to apostasy. It is faith in Jesus, the Son of God, who conserves and protects God's children from the fiery arrows. The same thought, we read in the Apostle Peter where he urges Christians to resist the devil, steadfast in the faith (1 Peter 5:9). So what is the fiery arrows? It can be words, books, magazines, film, pornography, images, ideas, thoughts, (desires) that attack our heart purity. Who has not noticed that suddenly pops up an image or a thought, as it is difficult to get away. Some are bothered by the sins and failures of youth. Even if one has received forgiveness of sins, pop evil thoughts and photos up. But they must be rejected so they do not get rooms in the heart. But how? Go to Jesus with them and put the matter to him. He's trying for everything, but without sin. In such situations, it may also be helpful to consult a counselor or another Christian, one has confidence.
The Apostle James writes about temptation and say God tempts no continues: "But every man is tempted, drawn and enticed by lust. When lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin. But when sin is full-grown, brings forth death "Jak 1.14 to 15. It is the Devil who tempts and could lead to the downfall of a Christian if one is not on duty. So let's live in the community with our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, will be the Devil's temptations revealed and refuted.
17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is God's word.
The soldier takes the helmet on his head, then grabs his sword with his right hand. The helmet protects the head which is the grandest member of the body. The fact that the Christian has received Salvation and live in salvation, protect the person from any danger. Awareness of salvation, both that one is saved here and now and eternal salvation, a protection against the devil and his spiritual army. When a Christian is Jesus Christ, the devil can not harm the believer as long as he remains in communion with Jesus, but he may be tempted to apostasy. Salvation helmet speaker to have victory in the thought life, do not give the devil room we read in chapter 4. 2. Cor. 10. 3 We live in the world, but we do not advocate that people do. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of people, but they have their power from God and can add strongholds in ruins. We tear down imaginations, 5 and all big and proud as itself against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. 6 We are ready to punish all disobedience, once you have reached full obedience.
Finally, mention the sword that is an assault weapon. There is no carnal weapons, but spiritual, which the Holy Spirit gives a Christian. It is God's word. Hebrews writer says about the word effect: "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword. Piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and judges the thoughts and advice "Heb 4.12. The word of God is living and active God's Holy Spirit is the word, and it provides the basis of the Holy Spirit when it is preached. God's Word is the strongest weapon attacks God's people have against the devil and his spiritual army. Therefore it is important to hear the word of God, read it, learn it (like heart), ponder it, talk about it, pray over it. In other words, take care of it. Word is the safest and best weapon to keep Satan away and drive him to flee because he can not stand the word of God.
There was also what Jesus used when he was attacked and tempted by the devil in the wilderness (Matthew 4.1 to 11). In Revelation it says about those who had triumphed over the accuser: "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony" Revelation 12.11.
Therefore, the word our help in trouble, and comfort in life and death. The Bible says, "Blessed are those who hear the word of God and obey it" Luke 11.28. They are blessed both in time and in eternity.
18 Do this in prayer, and put it all to God! Pray at all times in the Spirit! Watch and always keep on praying for all the saints,
To take on the whole armor of God and fight in the spiritual warfare can be a struggle and hard work. But Jesus has not called us to the sofa toilers, but to work in his vineyard, as members of his body, as volunteers and active Christians in the congregation and church. Much has signs of labor. So it is with prayer. It is not intended that prayer should be a pastime only when one has nothing to do. It pays to set aside time for prayer, but prayer is also resting. Jesus says to his weary troops for the gospel and the cause of peace, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matt.11, 28
19 also for me. Pray that the right words must be given to me when I have to speak, so I can boldly proclaim the gospel secret
Paul would preach in a right way gospel secrets. Here is the deal. To name a few truths here it is Jesus' death on Calvary defeated Satan. But this is just a beginning for all of God's secrets.
20 that I'm messenger also in prison. Pray that through the gospel must have courage to speak the way I should.
Now he sat in jail, this was part of God's plan. When fik him time and opportunity to write the letters we have of his hand today. Without his "break" we would probably not have had all the good letters. The fact that God allows things to happen, even the negative is often a part of his large and significant plan and purpose.
21 But that ye also may know how I feel and how things are with me, Tychicus will tell you all. He is our beloved brother and a faithful servant of the Lord.
Paul describes Tychicus: "Tychicus, our beloved brother, faithful servant and fellow servant in the Lord ..." (Col. 4:7)
It is clear that Tychicus is a person Paul has great affection for. His character, lifestyle and love of Christ solid bond between them. Tychicus also had a great concern for both work Paul performed, and the health of Paul. He was sensitive to the practical needs of the apostle had and tried to cover them as much as possible. Being someone who is described as "faithful servant ..." shows that Tychicus was a selfless person, helpful and kind. Nothing was "too much" for Tychicus. A servant was the "mark" of his life.
But Paul is not finished with this. He also calls Tychicus for "faithful". With those words describe the apostle that Tychicus was one who cared about people. He was a preacher, but also encourages, one who exercised a great service in there to comfort and challenge. Tychicus had the faithful in his heart.
Tychicus was faithful to the word of God and to Christ's congregation. He was therefore the right person to send to Colosse, at a time when heresies knocked on the door of this church. Tychicus taught the truth of the apostolic doctrine, faithfully, as a fellow servant, in loyalty to the Great Commission.
For Paul Tychicus was also a "fellow servant". In this word there is a deep meaning. First, it describes the Tychicus as a colleague, a member of the team. Tychicus was not looking to take care of their own reputation, or mele his own cake. He was part of something bigger, of a relationship. He worked for the kingdom of God, not self-interest. He was delighted and happy to serve the Apostle Paul. That in itself was reward enough.
I guess so many of us. In meeting with some of the disciples of Christ, who live such a rich life with him, it's a blessing just to be in their presence. So it was for Tychicus in relation to Paul.
But it is important to note this. Paul did not see Tychicus as his personal servant. Tychicus was a fellow servant in the Lord.
22 I am sending him to you just for you to hear how it is with us, and that He will give you courage.
Paul let him go. We see that Paul became more and more humble over the years. So it will be with us all. And what best serves the community? There should always prevail what serves us best self. This change became more and more visible also in Paul. But everything has its time and purpose. Sometimes God can allow our carnal chrome ping for his eternal and best intentions and will come forward.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love and faith from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ!
Here we see the duality of the Godhead again. It is the Father and the Son # 1 at # 2 We need to get an understanding here is right and biblical. Father is from eternity, the Son came forth from him this was Jesus' own testimony. Joh. AD 17 8 For I have given unto them the words you gave me and they accepted them. Now they know in truth that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me.
24 Grace and incorruptible life to be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ!
Here is Paul's "regular" greetings. Grace stands in the center! Secondly indestructible life. It gives us only through his son Jesus Christ. Anyone who has not him, not this life then it is only through Him that we can get and achieve it.
1. Joh. B. 5 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. But he that believeth not God hath made him a liar, because he has not believed in God's own testimony about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not own lives.
Immortal life is something only God the Father has and possesses. That we will also get it, it shows enormous confidence he gives us, in that we accept Christ and remain true to him. This is grace and mercy, incomprehensible big!
Joh. AD 1 16 From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, the only begotten Son, who is God and who is at the Father's side, he has shown us who he is. (End of quote).
Final Comment, how could this happen?
Personally, I think that it is a form of double standards. With that, I will explain briefly. It is that his father and all the surroundings around him demanded one thing, but he was not enough up. It can be through sexual practices, economic, responding to parents 'and others' expectations etc. we are here on such a wide area that I will stop here for now. I do not know why he committed suicide, but that there was an expectation pressure on this young son of Rick Warren, I am convinced. That he did not live up to it in one or more ways is probably in the bottom here too. In many cases it is much harder to be a pastor and preacher's son and daughter, but to be perfectly "normal. Let's take it and be too much to those who preach and teach the word of God. And support them financially and in every other way. We all need each other when it comes to none!
We must have the courage to talk about what we are struggling with and what is difficult. What was Matthew Warren? I do not know, but when the darkness is so big and strong that he took to shot himself. Then it is so incredibly large that here unfortunately one or many failed perhaps? Was he a homosexual, had it hard to hit the "right"? Spanned not up to all the expectations? I do not know, but that reason could and should have come forward so that we can all learn from it, I see it as a great need and scarce among all people, whether we are believers or not!
