The home at Hellerudtoppen here in Oslo sold, and I have bought a new home where I work in Vestby!

My home has now been sold, and according to an agreement with the new owners, the home will be taken over on May 1, 2027.
http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2026/08/no-1673-selling-my-house-here-at.html

Here is a review of when we moved in here in 2012, which has proven to be anything but easy for me.
As it has been a demanding year living here with all the struggles and battles I have had more or less since we moved here.
http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2012/12/nr-420-summary-of-2012-and-way-forward.html

It has actually been a very difficult period of my life in recent years.
With struggles and battles, but also with victory and joy.
Not least now that I have sold the house and got a brand new place.
All glory to Jesus the Lamb of God, and God the Father.

Where I have now bought a new home where I work in Vestby in Connect Bus.

The home that I have bought, which I will take over by agreement on April 1, 2027, has the address Sole allé 63. 1540 Vestby.

Everything has fallen into place for me, which I am very happy about.
Here are some pictures of the home.
It is on the 1st floor that I have bought the apartment.

No. 1675: It is the man who is responsible for the choices that a family and the spouse make based on God's word?!

No. 1675:

It is the man who is responsible for the choices that a family and the spouse make based on God's word?!

It is I as a man who should be the leader and responsible in a Christian family where God's word is decisive.
Picture of me and my now deceased wife Berit.

The Lord gives regulations about vows and determines when vows made by an unmarried daughter or by a wife shall stand, and when not, 2-17.
Numbers 30. 1 And Moses spoke these words to the children of Israel, according to all that the Lord had commanded him.
2 And Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of the children of Israel, saying: Thus has the Lord commanded:
3 When a man vows a vow to the Lord, or swears an oath to bind himself by a bond to do any thing, he shall not break his word; he shall do all that he has said. Deuteronomy 23:21 Ecclesiastes 5:3-4
4 And if a young woman vow a vow unto the LORD, or bind herself by a bond, being yet in her father's house,
5 And her father heareth of her vow, or of her bond wherewith she hath bound herself, and holdeth his peace at her, then all her vows, and every bond wherewith she hath bound herself, shall stand.
6 But if her father disallow it the same day that he heareth it, then none of her vows, or of her bond wherewith she hath bound herself, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed it.
7 If she becomes a man’s wife and a vow is upon her, or a rash word has come out of her lips by which she has bound herself,
8 and her husband hears of it, but holds his peace at her on the day he hears of it, then her vows and the obligations of her abstinence by which she has bound herself shall stand.
9 But if her husband disapproves of them on the day he hears of them, then he makes her vow which is upon her null and void, and also the rash word which has come out of her lips by which she has bound herself, and the Lord shall forgive her.
10 The vow of a widow or a divorced woman shall stand against her, whatever she has bound herself by.
11 But if she vowed or bound herself with an oath in her husband’s house,
12 and her husband heard of it, and held his peace at her, and did not disallow her, then all her vows and every bond by which she bound herself shall stand.
13 But if her husband make them null and void on the day he hears of it, then none of her vows or her bond by which she bound herself shall stand; her husband has made them null and void, and the Lord shall forgive her.
14 Every vow or bond by which she bound herself with an oath, her husband may confirm or make it void.

15 If her husband holds his peace from day to day, then he has confirmed all her vows or all her bond by which she bound herself; he has confirmed them, because he kept silent on the day he heard about it.
16 But if he first nullifies them for a while after he has heard about them, then he will bear the responsibility for her iniquity.
17 These are the regulations that the Lord gave Moses about the right of a man over his wife, and a father over his daughter as long as she is young and still in her father's house.

Being a man - especially in a family and marriage makes you "head" and leader!

1 Cor. 11. 3 I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ and that the head of the woman is the man. And the head of Christ is God.

Here in the book of Numbers it is from the Law of Moses that it is spoken about, which shows us what God thinks about the responsibility that one has as a man in relation to the woman.
Not least within the family, where among other things.
A woman can say something, but when a man or Father hears about this.
Then he can, if he does it on the same day, reverse what she – the woman – has promised.
We read:
“Every vow and every obligation to abstain and fast that she has imposed on herself with an oath, her husband can either confirm or make void.”

This again shows that the man is above the woman in making decisions and resolutions.
If one is equal in Christ, then there is still a difference between man and woman.

The man has the greatest responsibility and the best prerequisite for being able to stand up for the truth.

From the nature side, as God has shaped and formed us, man and women are not equal.
Where we are to complement each other, and the man has a leadership responsibility that in many ways is reserved for the man.
This does not mean that the woman can and should also take part in the decisions.
But the man has both the right and should have the last and decisive word and the decisions.

It is this principle of subordination, where in many ways one must say that the word of God in both the OT and NT is a form of particle governance.
Of course, that does not sound good for the way we live our lives today, even as believers.
But the word of God gives clear instructions and guides us.
God who created us, he also knows what is best for us, right?
We read, among other things, here in the word of God.

1 Tim. 2. 8 I would that men would pray, to

at all times and in all places, with lifted up and humble hands, without wrath or quarreling.
9 Likewise, women should adorn themselves in modest clothing, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes.
10 For as is proper for a woman who professes godliness, so should she adorn herself with good works.
11 A woman should learn in silence with all subjection.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first; then Eve was formed.
14 Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and was in the transgression.
15 But she will be saved through childbearing if she continues in faith, love, purity, and sobriety.

It is not the case that in a marriage and in general in the church that the responsibility is equally distributed.
It is the man who has the main responsibility, and the Bible follows a partial model in both the Old and New Testaments.
Society and unfortunately also within the churches and the church, what God's word speaks of has probably not been practiced or cultivated.

When decisions and choices are made, it is ultimately the man who has the last word that should be said. And the actions that are taken.
If he does not do that, and lets the children and the woman make decisions and let them have their own will.
Then it is the man's "fault" from God's side that he does not participate in making the decisions.
It rests on him, and God's word says this clearly.
Both in the OT and NT.

I have experience after 38 years of marriage with Berit, who unfortunately died last year.

Where decisions were made, and several times I was not enough for what was made of decisions.
That was how I see it from God's word, not the children's or Berit's "mistakes".
But mine, who failed my God-given calling and leadership role.
And if we made good decisions, then it is certainly permissible to give ourselves a pat on the back.
So as I see it from God's word, that the husband is allowed to review.

We read in Numbers 30. 13 But if her husband has made them null and void on the day he heard it, then nothing that has come out of her lips, whether it is a vow that she has made or an obligation to abstain; her husband has made them null and void, and the Lord will forgive her.

Even though this is in the Old Testament, I want to say that it should also be the basis for us who live today and in the new covenant.
God has given us his word, as rules for living.
Or should we say, driving rules for life!

No. 1672:

Oslo Municipality is "satisfied" after I tore down the wall and paid the giga fine, they are not pursuing me for "illegal" shed and stairs!

This is how it looks today, not very good but it has become green.

https://innsyn.pbe.oslo.kommune.no/saksinnsyn/casedet.asp?mode=&caseno=202607321

After I tore down the wall and paid a total of almost 300,000, - kr to Municipal Debt Collection.
No newspapers or anyone will write about this abuse case.
For this inhumane and totally inconsiderate treatment I have received.
Where I called down and was instructed how to build the wall.
https://blog.janchristensen.net/2023/02/nr-3175-hva-skjedde-i-de.html

Then it has been followed by lawsuits, unwillingness, orders, fines and recovery of, among other things, a car.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ww7QwjITAu4

Here is the "little" man in the street who is completely run over by the authorities!

I have done what I could to keep the wall.
But after my wife Berit died last year, I no longer had the strength and resources in me to fight.
I hired a demolition company, and the wall was removed.
Afterwards, PBE was "satisfied" and will not give additional fines and other things.
Then the alternative is to leave them as they are, or apply for approval and see what comes out of it all.

The case against me and my late wife Berit Nyland Christensen shows a brutality, senselessness and idiocy that cannot be defended by any rules and so-called discrimination.

The wall that we built was no embarrassment or obstacle to a person or a vehicle.
It is perfectly fine that I should have applied and not blindly trusted my then caseworker Kaja Aubert Lange.
https://blog.janchristensen.net/2019/04/nr-2439-pbe-her-i-oslo-var-i.html

Is Norway and especially Oslo where those who want something and succeed at something should be taken?

For me, what I have experienced is a form of Jante Law put into the system.
If you are completely out of control, then there is mercy to be had.
But like me and my now deceased wife built a great wall.
Should be punished as harshly as possible.
Even when they took the car, the judges justified it by saying that I was so resourceful, if they took the car, I would get to work anyway.
The thinking is that if you can manage.
Then it is entirely possible to try to break you by any means.
It is so rotten that it is possible that it could end up in my eyes and ears!

Final comment:

What can one say?
I just had to finally give up to finish with the madness of the Oslo Municipality and their entire apparatus.
You can't endlessly fight yourself to the death.
Sometimes it is just important to let the madmen win with force.
In my eyes, there is not a single positive thing about what has happened now.
On the contrary, it has now become deplorable and ugly down towards the roadway.
The view of our property has become completely open.
It is simply bad what the authorities have done.
But now at least all so-called illegality has been cleared out of the way.
The storeroom and stairs will remain there and I or the new owners of the house will have to apply for stairs and a storeroom.
Then we can just say that the crazy people "won" here, and I can move on and have no more encumbrances on me, hallelujah!

Now I have decided to sell the house.
So this will hopefully soon be a closed chapter in my life.
So pray for a good sale and that God guides me further regarding a new place to live!

No. 1671: The word Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible, how then to understand this?

No. 1671:

The word Trinity is not mentioned in the Bible, how then to understand this?

http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2015/11/no-1078-how-will-holy-spirit-be-in.html

The doctrine of the Trinity is not a true Christian doctrine as far as I can see from the word of God.
As far as I have studied the subject, it was created from 150 - 600 AD at various church councils, negotiations and confessions of faith that were adopted.
http://www.mensviventer.no/mvv41/treenighetresyme.html
https://janchristensen.net/artiklerhoved.php?side=Tanker-om-Treenigheten

In many ways, this doctrine completely contradicts what the first Christians believed and taught!

The apostle Paul writes the following:
1 Cor. 8. 6 then there is for us only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and we through him.

We also read this several places in God's word, including here:
John 17. 3 and this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Jesus is at the right hand of the Father, and the Holy Spirit is their common spirit who is like a representative on earth.
When Jesus himself says that through the Holy Spirit he and the Father will come to dwell in us, as believers.
John 14. 23 Jesus answered, He who loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our abode with him.
https://blog.janchristensen.net/2011/09/nr-204-jesus-sier-han-og-faderen-kommer.html
http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2011/11/nr-125-who-and-where-was-jesus-before.html
It is so that from a biblical perspective, emphasis is placed on certain things that are not mentioned in the word of God.
When it is mentioned, it is also mentioned in a different way than what unfortunately many professing Christians teach and believe.

I in no way believe that I have the full and complete truth.
We all see in pieces and divided, and only have a limited view of the word of God.
The doctrine of the Trinity was not a Christian doctrine before it was developed at various church councils from about. year. 3 – 600. Where the discussions were about who should be the 3rd person in the Godhead.
Where Mary stood strong for many, but it was the Holy Spirit who was placed there.
We know from scripture that the word trinity, or the doctrine of the trinity, is a man-made theological word that is not found in the word of God at all.
The words are simply created by and through people.

The word of God teaches as far as I can understand and see it, that those who do not believe will cease to exist. Not eternal torment, even though being lost is the worst thing that can happen to a person. And being saved and accepted by God, the greatest, best and most glorious thing that can happen to a person. The Bible is clear here that there are two ways out of life. Either eternal life, or perdition.
You will find several places in the word of God mentioned.
Among others here.

2 Thess. 2. 10 But all who allow themselves to be deceived by injustice will be destroyed because they did not love to receive the truth so that they could be saved.

People without Jesus and God will be destroyed.
That is what the Word of God teaches as far as I can understand and see it.
https://blog.janchristensen.net/2011/12/nr-286-vil-gud-tillate-alle-ugudelige.html

So what about the doctrine of the Trinity?

Is it true that there are three equal persons in a common Godhead?
What does the scripture say about this?
As I understand the scripture, it is difficult to see it that way.
Then from the scripture, there is much that speaks of the Holy Spirit being the spirit that acts on behalf of God and Jesus.
Then to mention the Holy Spirit as a separate God person, next to God and Jesus.
That is not how the Word of God presents it as far as I can see and understand it.
The Word of God speaks of the Holy Spirit acting on behalf of God, and not on his own.
And we should not pray or worship the Holy Spirit, as we should with God the Father.

The virgin birth indicates that it was God himself through the Holy Spirit who caused Jesus to be born!

Matt. 1. 18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was thus: After his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19 But Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not wanting to expose her to public disgrace, decided to divorce her quietly.
20 But as he thought about this, behold, an angel of the LORD appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. *JHVH
21 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” *gr. Iesous = heb. Jehovshuwa (Joshua) = Jehovah's Savior
22 This happened to fulfill what the LORD* had spoken through his prophet: *YHVH
23 ‘Look! The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel!’ which means, ‘God with us.’ Isaiah 7:14
24 When Joseph woke up from sleep, he did as the angel of the LORD* had commanded him and took her to be his wife. *YHVH
25 But he did not have sexual relations with her until she had given birth to her firstborn son, who was named in the name of Jesus.

Here it says that Mary became fertile – pregnant - “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. *YHVH

Heb. 10. 5 ‘Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body for redemption.
6 For in burnt offerings for sins you had no pleasure.’

7 Then he said, ‘Behold, I come (in the volume of the scroll it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’ PSALM 40:7-9
8 First he said this, ‘Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings for sins you did not desire.’ For you had no pleasure in them, even though they were set out in the law.
9 Then he said, ‘Behold, I come to do your will, O God.’ He abolishes the first and establishes the second.
10 And through that desire we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. forever.

A body made God the Father. In what way? Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit. But here it says that it was God the Father himself who made this body.

I also remember an incident 15 years ago.
Then someone wrote about this in detail during the debate in Vår Land.
If the Holy Spirit had been a person, and not the spirit of God.
Then the virgin birth would have been an assault, yes he even meant rape.
Mary became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
God by his spirit planted a form of Divine seed in Mary.
There it was God himself who took up residence in Mary.
Jesus - God's own son - took up residence.
The Word became flesh.
Took up residence in a human being.
Therefore Jesus was 100% God. Since he is God's "only begotten" son, no one else is. We are sons and daughters of God by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
But you saved sinners who have received part in childhood through faith.
Jesus was of course also 100% human when he was born into this world as a little baby boy. And had a naturally normal development as a human.
Absolutely incredible this.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw his glory — that glory.

In the Gospel of Luke, the angel Gabriel told Mary that "the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you"?

"Overshadow" is the same Greek word as when the cloud of the shekhinah glory "overshadowed" the tabernacle, where the Ark of the Covenant was kept (Ex. 40:35 in the Septuagint).

It is a parallel statement by Gabriel, so "the Holy Spirit" and "the power of the Most High" are two ways of speaking; and in the same way "shall come upon you" and "shall overshadow you" are two ways of speaking about the same event.

The word for "power" (dynamis) is also used of miracles and the power of God to perform miracles.

Acts 7:54 When they heard this, they were cut to the heart and gnashed their teeth at him.
55 After this, he was filled with the Holy Spirit and looked up into heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
56 He said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, covering their ears. And they all ran at him with one accord!
58 They threw him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their cloaks at the feet of a young man named Saul.
59 As they were stoning him, Stephen called out, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
60 Then he fell down on his knees and cried out with a loud voice, “Do not hold this sin against them!” And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

If we are to believe the doctrine of the Trinity, this account becomes impossible to relate to.
Stephen saw Jesus, who was great or was at the right hand of the Father.
He saw the glory of God, or the shekhinah of God.

And it says that he who delivered this speech, Stephen.
Was filled with the Holy Spirit.

Here one has at least several Gods if one is to base the doctrine of the Trinity on it.
Where one encounters the Divine every time, it is it is a separate God.
A separate God person.
We read the following here:

1.) Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit, there is 1 person.

2.) God's glory

3.) Jesus who stood at the right hand of God.

4.) And God the Father.

In other words, here there are not only three Gods, but four Gods.
Should one base the doctrine of the Trinity which believes that God's glory is the Holy Spirit.
+++ The Holy Spirit was in Stephen, Jesus and the Father.
Or do we insert things into the texts as needed?

For me, the word Trinity is not something you find anywhere in the Bible.
But yes, that God works today on earth.
That is what Jesus promised would happen after the outpouring of the Spirit on the day of Pentecost.

Some examples to
Matt. 11. 20 For you will speak in the spirit of your Father when you speak.

Here we see one of many, many examples. That now The holy speaks through us. Then we find that it says that it is either the spirit of God, the Father, Christ, etc.
How n interpret and understand this?
Another example, here I use the 1930 translation
1 Pet. 1. 10 Of this salvation the prophets searched and searched, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you,
11 searching what or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them was indicating when he testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glory that would follow;
12 for it was revealed to them that they did not serve themselves, but us, in that which has now been announced through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven - these things that angels desire to look into.

Not going into depth here. But we see that in the OT it is mentioned that it was the spirit of Christ that was in them. Which made them write and speak as they did.
It is this exchange that we find the spirit of God, the spirit of Christ and the Holy Spirit going one after another.
It indicates as strongly as it is written.
That the Spirit in the scripture goes back more to the one in question than to make it appear that we meet an "extra" God person, right?

John 1.18 is translated in 1978, 2011 and 2024 {Bible Society} completely wrong. The reason is text variation. where a few finds in Alexandria {Egypt} have a spelling error "only begotten God" where all other early finds have "only begotten son". then variation in the basic text {error} is abused to reformulate the entire verse. this should be the case for 99 percent of early finds.
"No one has ever seen God; the only begotten son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has explained him."

Jesus is the unique son of God, the only begotten Son.

Jesus is not mentioned in the scripture as the only true God, there is only God the Father.

But Jesus as his son, is "the only begotten son."

Jesus is unique and one of a kind in every way.

Yet, he is our substitute, our substitute, our Alpha and Omega.

The beginning and the end, when all things are fulfilled, he gives all things back to the Father.

1 Cor. 15. 24 Then comes the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, after he has put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign until he has put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

27 ‘He has put all things under his feet.’ Ps 8:6 But when he says, ‘All things are put under his feet,’ it is clear that he who put all things under him is excepted.

28 For when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will also be subjected to him who put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

The doctrine of the Trinity is also mathematically problematic if the Holy Spirit is a separate person.
How can one person then live in millions of believers at the same time?
Therefore, it is purely intellectually incorrect to claim that there is a 3rd person God as the Father and the Son.
The Scripture says again and again that the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God, the spirit of Jesus Christ, the comforter, helper, guide given to all of us believers.
We do not find any place in the scripture that we should worship or pray to the Holy Spirit.
And no place do we find in the scripture that the Holy Spirit acts and is as a person.
But operates in different ways where you sometimes find physical manifestations.

Then among other things in the baptism of Jesus that the Holy Spirit came upon him.
In the original text it does not say as it is translated in the Norwegian Bible.
It says that the Holy Spirit came upon him like a light like a dove.
Then we understand that the Father gave his full and complete recognition to his Son.
And it became like an illumination on Jesus who resembled a dove.
This must have been an enormous sight, but we cannot or should not in any way draw the conclusion that the Holy Spirit is a person.
On the contrary, the Holy Spirit is the spirit of God who works on God's behalf.
The doctrine of the Trinity involves concepts, words and expressions for which we find no biblical evidence.

Matt. 3. 16 When Jesus was baptized, he immediately came up from the water. And, look! — then the heavens were opened before him and he felt the Spirit of God descending on him in the form of a dove.
17 And, look! — then they heard a voice from heaven, which said: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I have given my authority!”

It could also be translated like this.
When Jesus was baptized, he immediately came up from the water. And, behold! — then the heavens were opened before him, and he felt the Spirit of God descending upon him in the form of a dove, and coming down upon him.
And, behold! — then they heard a voice from heaven saying, “This is my beloved Son, whom I love. I do not see any form of human form of sin.

This is in complete agreement with Rom. 8. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin and condemned sin in the flesh,

Jesus came as a man, but completely without sin and any form of human weakness and inclination.

As I see it, this with the doctrine of the Trinity is a way for us humans to have God in our pattern and mindset.

Where one inserts words and concepts that the scripture does not.

Therefore, this doctrine of three equal Gods in one common God where all three are equal etc.

Completely outside of what the word of God says and teaches.

When the scripture says that it is the Father who is the only true God , and he has only one Only Begotten Son. There today God operates on earth by his spirit which is a part of him. Not an extra person to be prayed to, worshipped or honored.

The doctrine of the Trinity is as most people believe and teach, as far as I can see.
Not in accordance with scripture.
In many ways it is that one himself wants to be God and get God into our pattern and mindset. I cannot see scripture teaching in accordance with this as there is only God the Father who is the only true God, and we have only one mediator, savior and Lord. It is his son Jesus Christ, to whom the Father has today given all power and authority.
But after the 1000 year reign the Father will again have all this, and then God creates and makes all things new.

Final comment:

The word trinity is not mentioned in the Bible, so how do we understand this?
This was the question I asked.

God the Father is the only True God who has no beginning.
Jesus is his Only Begotten Son who has gone forth from him from the beginning of time.
If we read, for example, Word. 8, we must understand it so that Jesus was the first thing that the Father created or came forth from him.
The Holy Spirit is not a separate person as we define a person.
But it is a "common" spirit that is mentioned in the scriptures as, among other things, the spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, the comforter, the advocate, etc.
All prayer, worship and praise are ultimately directed towards the only true living God, the Father.

There are also many examples of the Bible translation being wrong, and directly misleading in order to make it agree with a Trinity doctrine that is actually not in accordance with the scriptures.
Here is an example where the following is stated in the Norwegian Bible.
Acts 1:11-13. 15. 28 For the Holy Spirit and we have decided not to impose any further burden on you than these necessary things:

The original text does not say so, but what is translated in Arne Jordly's translation which is on my website.
There it says the following:
Acts 15. 28 For by the Holy Spirit we have decided not to impose on you any greater burden than is necessary:

It is then completely different that it is by the Holy Spirit who is the common spirit of God and Jesus Christ who guides us as believers and the church.
To me it appears that one is translating the word of God completely proven wrong in order for it to match an understanding of reality that is built on a constructed doctrine of the Trinity?
I cannot understand how one inserts the word we and the Holy Spirit when it clearly does not say so. It was the spirit of God that they were led to make that decision.
If one then puts together all of God's word on this subject, one gets the truth.
Since the sum of God's word is truth.

https://blog.janchristensen.net/2013/01/nr-539-summen-av-guds-ord-er-sannhet.html

Study this subject yourself, and make your own conclusions as I have done.
Then I cannot see that the so-called Trinity doctrine is in accordance with scripture!
My conclusion is in any case that it is God the Father who is the true origin and who is the only True God. Where the Son Jesus Christ is his only begotten son. The Son and the Father have a common Spirit that operates today, the Holy Spirit. Which we should neither worship nor pray to. Only God the Father in the name of Jesus!
And his Beloved Son Jesus Christ, as it says everyone who calls on the name of the Lord which is Jesus, shall be saved!

So the grave of my wife Berit Nyland Christensen is decorated and arranged for May 17!

So is the grave of my Beloved and dearest possession that I have had, who unfortunately died so much too early.

http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2025/09/no-1651-memorial-to-my-beloved-and.html

The grave is now decorated for my first May 17, which is Constitution Day, without her.
At 38 years, this is more demanding than anyone knows.
How I miss her, her gentle, warm and Jesus-devoted woman she was.

No. 1669: Norway is a country where everyone who is not A4 is punished with the most vile, worst and simplest punishments, and most people think it's OK!

No. 1669:

Norway is a country where everyone who is not A4 is punished with the most vile, worst and simplest punishments, and most people think it's OK!

To me, Norway, and the entire society to which we all belong, appears.
More or less like a banana republic where if you don't fit into the A4 pattern that you actually cultivate and love here in Norway.
Then you can be exposed to absolutely everything from evil, rottenness and humiliation by the authorities for the smallest thing if you have in some way broken Norwegian law. Well, according to them.

Norway is a country where everyone who is not A4 is punished with the most vile, worst and simplest punishments, and most people think it's OK!

Like here in my case, where I have upgraded my property.
But at the same time I have broken a completely insignificant and meaningless law.
How much of a fall you have on the property.
Nothing helps these people who love to humiliate and punish the person who does not bow to this system that they themselves have set and are going to have everyone in.
Even though what they are doing is pure idiotic and has no purpose or meaning in the world.

They took my car and my now deceased wife!

Then I have actually heard from others in retrospect, it's a good thing they didn't take the house.
This is where the problems are, now that you yourself are safe and sound in it.
Then you have no empathy, compassion or understanding for others.
Although I have actually ended up in this in many ways quite innocent.
I called down and asked how to build a wall against the road from my and my now deceased wife's property.
There I received clear guidance.

Now in retrospect, when I have not complied with their orders, the punishment against me is actually ruthless, powerful and colossal.
Where they have not only taken the car, but I still have to pay them 188,000, - kr even if I do as they say in everything.
The punishment is so severe, and no one reacts.
Rather defend the Collection Agency and the Bailiff who collect the orders and decisions that the Planning and Building Agency together with the State Administrator come up with through reprisals and fines.

What is my offense and that makes me be punished?

It is that I have tried to upgrade the property.
But have not followed the law as I should.
And when the PBE and the authorities have given their orders to remove the wall, stairs and storage room.
Then I have sat on my hind legs.
Then they use all the tools they have against you.
Where they give orders to demolish first.
If you don't do that, then there will be fines and enforcement fines.
Which has resulted in them accessing my account to withdraw money.
When they couldn't do it, and get the money they wanted.
Then it was to collect assets where they threatened to forcibly sell the house, car and other things.
They have been and collected the car, and I have basically been standing there without a car back and forth to work.
Now they are demanding 188,000, - NOK and that I tear down the wall, stairs and storage room.

The case is under consideration as I believe that I am allowed to have a wall, and they will make a decision on this.
At the same time, we saw them assessing the storage room and stairs which I expect I will have to tear down and get a fine for this.

Now I don't know what it will all end up in.
But the punishment against me is so strong and extensive.
It is not possible to fully defend yourself against them as they actually have the entire society and the population of Norway on their side.
No newspapers or others will write about the case because they believe that I will only get the punishment and order that I have earned.

Here is the latest writing:
https://innsyn.pbe.oslo.kommune.no/saksinnsyn/casedet.asp?mode=&caseno=202505744

Here is some of what I have asked and written about the case:

Questions for PBE and the illegality follow-up department.

1. When I comply with your order, I want the remaining amount of 188,000, - NOK to be waived.

You have already taken the work car. Then I am probably punished.

2. Do I have to demolish the shed and stairs?

3. Can I keep 0.5 meters of the wall?

According to PBE's own regulations, the minimum height for walls within the small house plan is 0.5 meters. And walls up to 1.5 meters.
Preferably 1 meter and up where the fence I have.
Can I use.
Removing the wall completely is a bad solution.
Keeping some of the wall would be a much better solution.
But reduce it to somewhere between 1 and 0.5 meters.

Can I get an answer from you on this regarding my case where you believe that I have illegal conditions on my property.

The decision you made leaves more questions than answers if I don't know if I can keep the tiny shed.
And the stairs. Which everyone else is allowed to have in similar property as I have.
All houses that have property facing the road have access down towards Stormyrveien.

I would like to remind you that it is my property that is concerned where removing the wall 100% will degrade the property unnecessarily.
The small house plan allows walls of a minimum of 0.5 meters.

Kind regards

Final comment:

The unfair and senseless harsh treatment I am subjected to.
Is completely out of all proportion and reasonableness within what I have done of so-called illegalities.
But okay, here I just have to take the punishment.
And comply with your orders as far as possible.
Even if this will cost me extolig much.
Is anyone interested in supporting me?
Then it is possible to support me with intercession and funds.

Here is my last letter to them and a reminder to finish the case if possible.

Team Inkasso

Oslo 1/5. 2026
Case at Municipal Inkasso 735242

Hi!

Haven't heard anything from you in a while.

Hoping for clarification, of course to my advantage as what has been built is as far as I can see.
A clear upgrade of my property.
Where the wall holds the fill materials nicely in place.
Stairs are necessary as my property is so steeply pitched, therefore I am more than anyone else in need of stairs.
The shed, which is only 11 sq m2, allows things to stay dry and fairly secure so that no one else can pick up things on my property.
If the same things are only under a tarpaulin, then it invites others to go straight into the property and take the things that are now in the shed.

I had a reasonable electric car (which in my opinion is one of the best electric cars ever built. A BMW i3).
Which has been replaced by a 20-year-old Passat that uses far above average gasoline. My expenses related to the car have now multiplied several times.
I just hope it lasts.
The electric car I had was sold for 104,000, - NOK and according to the regulations I am allowed to have a car for almost the same amount.
81,858.48 NOK. it was allowed to have another car when you sold the car. But costs and work, so you probably got about 0?
Everything is done with one purpose only, to humiliate me.
I believe that according to the regulations I should have at least received that amount back to buy a new car.
Here I have been subjected to such inhumane treatment that I just don't understand that it is possible.
Just shows the brutality and top-down treatment I am subjected to by the authorities. Here by the debt collection agency (Team Inkasso) and the Bailiff.
I just have to say that I really miss the beautiful and practical EL Car I had that I never had problems with and that cost me almost nothing when I charged it at home in the garage.
Now I have an old worn-out Passat that costs me an incredible amount in maintenance, gasoline and tolls. The car is also an "environmental bomb" compared to the EL Car I had which was in my opinion one of the best things built as an EL Car. You should know how much I miss it.
That one is treated like this by the authorities for trying to get to work every day is a mystery to me and simply heartbreaking!
But human and practical considerations are obviously not emphasized, here one is to be taken so hard that it is not certain that one will be able to continue.
The purpose is obvious, it is only about one thing, to humiliate me.
I think that is shown by the rudeness and brutality of the procedure against me who after all goes to work 100%. Not trying to be a burden to either society or anyone else.
With a relatively long journey, the punishment is, in my opinion, completely inhumane, harsh, rigid, evil, ruthless and meaningless.
Am I really being punished proportionally to what I have done of "violations" more than any person in the Kingdom of Norway?
After all, I have only tried to do the right thing here by upgrading property that moll and other things ran down into the roadway.
Now the fill materials are kept neatly in place.
For me to be punished like this is so beyond words that words are not enough.
In my eyes, black becomes white, and white becomes black.
Where it is obvious that the paragraph on exemption and approval should have been used.
It is a paragraph that is written to use and not set aside in my opinion.
Since what has been built is more of an advantage than a disadvantage, and the law is not significantly set aside as PBE's own regulations provide an opening for walls up to 1.5 meters.
My wall is 1.8 meters, and even though the drop height may not be as high as I thought. Then the law is still not significantly set aside when PBE's own regulations for the small house plan say that you can have a wall of 1.5 meters.
In my case, if you base the drop height where the wall actually stands, I can have a wall of 1 meter according to calculations from experts.
(see attachment.)
I was also advised that I did not have to apply if the wall was not over 2 meters, and built on top of an old wall as I did.

I also hope that I do not have to pay the fine of 188,000, - kr as I have been punished more than enough?
After all, I was advised by the then caseworker over the phone how to build the wall that is if so a nuisance for the Municipality of Oslo.
I do not understand how it is possible to be treated so unreasonably harshly, solely for having tried to upgrade my own property.
It is beyond and beyond my comprehension.
But then I do not understand things that obviously PBE understands better than me?

I hope for a quick decision that is different from the decisions that PBE has reached.

I would also like to say that having a wall, stairs and a storage room is not a criminal act, is it?
Is that something that is normal to have when you have a detached house and have rough terrain, which I guess quite a few people have here in Norway?
That I then have tried to adapt the property, and upgraded it.
Although it turns out that the wall misunderstood the guidance I received from my then case manager.
Is it possible to grant an exemption and approval when it is located on a straight roadway and 1 meter from a paved roadway?
I hope that all previous decisions will be reversed, and everything will be left untouched.
Grant an exemption and approval.

An exemption cannot be granted if the considerations behind the provision from which the exemption is granted, the considerations in the purpose of the law or national or regional interests, are significantly disregarded. The advantages of granting an exemption must clearly outweigh the disadvantages.
Here in my case there are only advantages, not any disadvantages.
When granting an exemption from the law and the regulations to the law, special emphasis must be placed on the consequences of the exemption for health, the environment, soil protection, safety and accessibility.

As far as I can understand, granting me an exemption and approval is a huge advantage.
Not least if you look at the consequences for health, environment, soil protection, safety and accessibility.

I would also like to say in conclusion:
I will go as far as possible to comply with the decision that the PBE or the State Administrator makes.

I just have to finish this case now that I have become a widower and have reduced strength, income and most of it.
Even if it will vandalize and degrade the property.

Yours sincerely

I decorated it a bit, but unfortunately there are special rules here in Oslo that mean you can't arrange it with a bed etc.
You just have to keep it simple.

Here are some pictures from where Berit is buried.
We chose a very pretty stone with an angel surrounding the stone.
Berit was like an angel and the most beautiful and harmonious Jesus woman I have ever experienced in my life.
What a wonderful person Berit was, and I was overwhelmed and overjoyed to be married to her for 38 years.
What wonderful years we had together.
Soon we will meet.
Then to be together forever with God the Father, Jesus, the angels and all the saints from the old and new covenant.
All people who are then found worthy of the world to come!

King Rehoboam, Solomon's son, was "high in his own eyes" and did not care about being so!

Illustrative image of King Rehoboam, Solomon's son.
As he might have looked.
It is almost 3000 years since he lived, so this is only an illustrative image.

2 Chron. 10. 1 Rehoboam went to Shechem; for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king. 1 Kings 12,1-20
2 When Jeroboam, Nebat's son, heard it (he was then in Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon), he returned from Egypt. 1 Kings 11,40
3 And they sent for him; Then Jeroboam and all Israel came and spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
4 Your father made our yoke heavy; but now make the grievous service and the heavy yoke that your father put on us lighter, and we will serve you.
5 He said to them, “Depart for three days, and then come to me.” So the people departed.
6 Then King Rehoboam consulted the old men who had stood before Solomon his father while he was still alive, saying, “What advice do you give me that I may return answer to this people?”
7 They answered him, “If you will be kind to this people and show them kindness and good words, they will be your servants forever.”
8 But he forsook the advice that the old men had given him, but consulted the young men who had grown up with him and who stood before him.
9 He asked them, “What advice do you give us that we may answer this people who have said to me, ‘Lighten the yoke your father put on us?’”
10 The young men who had grown up with him answered him, “Thus you shall say to this people who have spoken to you, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter for us,’ thus you shall say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s loins.’
11 Now whereas my father made your yoke heavy, I will add to your yoke; my father chastised you with whips, I will chastise you with scorpions.”
12 So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king had said, ‘Come back to me in three days.’
13 The king answered them harshly. King Rehoboam did not listen to the advice of the old men.
14 But he answered them as the young men had advised, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it; my father disciplined you with whips, but I will discipline you with scorpions.”
15 But the king did not listen to the people; for it was a turn of events from God, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he spoke to Jeroboam the son of Nebat by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite. 1 Kings 11:29-31
16 When all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, “What portion have we in David? We have no portion in the son of Jesse. Every man to your tents, O Israel! Now therefore, David, see to your own house.” So all Israel returned to their tents. 2 Samuel 20:1
17 But as for the children of Israel who dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
18 Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was in charge of the forced labor, but the children of Israel stoned him, so that he died, and King Rehoboam himself had to quickly get up into his chariot and flee to Jerusalem.
19 Thus Israel fell from the house of David, and so it has been to this day.

Here we meet Solomon's son and heir, King David's grandson!

Solomon reigned for 40 years, so this is only 40 years after King David's death.
In many ways, Israel's heyday was relatively short.
When David reigned in Jerusalem for 33 years, before that 7 years in Hebron.

Solomon for 40 years.
After this, the kingdom was divided, into a North and a South kingdom.
It is in this event that is mentioned here in 2 Chronicles and in 1 Kings from chapters 12 to 14.
Rehoboam is mostly mentioned in 2 Chronicles 10 to 12.

The conditions for Rehoboam were very good despite his Father's sins and in many ways disobedience to the Lord and His word.
Even with relatively good conditions, it is not a given that things will go well.
Every day and every occasion is an opportunity to either succeed or fail.
It is not automatic, one needs God's grace, help and guidance all the way to succeed.
Start taking things for granted, and here like Rehoboam who was "high in himself", and did not care about the danger of being so!

Rehoboam was put to an election, where he could go two ways!

The choices were actually very simple, but at the time decisive.
Should he listen to the older men, or to the younger men with whom he had grown up?

We read the following:
“Your father made our yoke heavy; but now lighten the harsh service and the heavy yoke that your father put on us, and we will serve you.”

Taxes and the burden of taxes under his Father, Solomon.
It had become very demanding for the common people.
Then the choice was for Rehoboam whether to continue it, or to reduce it.
Here the King was to consult with his people, for three days.
Then they would get an answer.

As I said, there were two options.

Make the yoke, the tax requirements and what the people were to give back to the King.
Either lighter or heavier.
Where the older men were just as clear in their recommendation as the younger men were.

We read:
“King Rehoboam did not listen to the advice of the older men, but answered them as the young men had advised: ‘If my father made your yoke heavy, I will make it "And it is even more difficult; if my father disciplined you with whips, I will discipline you with scorpions."

That King Rehoboam let the younger ones and neglected the advice of the older ones.
Was fatal for both himself, the kingship itself and Israel which became a divided kingdom after this.

How could Rehoboam really believe what the young people said and seduced him?

Unfortunately, he is not alone. There is a proverb that says that children play best.

Here the younger ones were just as naive and self-centered as the King was. Therefore, their advice and guidance fit him.

We all make wrong choices so many times, which have major and negative consequences for ourselves. And many others.
The scripture says, among other things, this:

Prov. 18. 1 The stubborn one only follows his own desires; against all wise counsel he shows his teeth.
12 Before a fall a man’s heart is haughty, but before honor is humility.

Prov. 16. 18 Before destruction is pride, and before a fall a haughty spirit.

Rehoboam was the son of Solomon who wrote this.
But it is obvious that this has not happened to him.
When he really has not listened or lived by these Bible verses.
If he had done so, not only been a hearer of the word.
But also a doer of it, then he would never have ended up in this situation.
Where Israel was divided into a North and South kingdom.

Rehoboam had to flee for his life, so serious was the situation for him!

We read:
“15 The king did not listen to the people;
Now when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king and said, What portion have we in David? We have no portion in the son of Jesse. To your tents, O Israel, every man! Now look to your own house, David! Then all Israel returned home.
Only over the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam became king.
Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was in charge of the forced labor, but the children of Israel stoned him, so that he died, and King Rehoboam himself had to quickly get up into his chariot and flee to Jerusalem.”

He barely escaped with his life.
He had to flee to Jerusalem with his head held high.
His close associate who was in charge of the forced labor died by stoning.
A truly terrible and cruel way to die.

There are consequences when we are not on the Lord’s side in our decisions!

Among other things, the Law of Moses prescribed how one should seek God for guidance.
I wrote an article about this a few years ago.
Here it is and a little excerpt from that article:

With this breastplate were the Urim and Thummim

The breastplate was to be folded in two. Why? Because something was hidden in it, it is called the Urim and Thummim. Most likely these were precious stones, and the words mean light and perfection.

When someone had to make an important decision, but did not know exactly what God wanted them to do, they went to the high priest. He was able to tell them what God’s will was by means of the Urim and Thummim. Through them God gave his answer, and the inquirer received perfect light on what he should do.

Perhaps some are thinking, ‘I wish we had a high priest who could always show us the way!’ Well, that is exactly what we have, but fortunately not on earth where we might have to travel far to get help! Our high priest is in heaven, and through prayer we have direct communication with him.

We can approach our high priest with all our problems. He is there for us. He lives for his people. He does not leave us in doubt. We can tell him everything, and then we must calmly wait for his answer. In due time he will make it clear to us which way to go.

Here we read about this in the Old Testament:

Deuteronomy 33. 8 About Levi he said:
Your Thummim and Urim
shall be with your faithful man,
whom you tested at Massah
and with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah.

Exodus 28. 30 You shall put the Urim and Thummim in the breastplate. They shall be over Aaron's heart when he goes in before the Lord. Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the Lord continually.

http://the-heavenly-blog.janchristensen.net/2015/02/no-882-gods-guidance-through-urim-and.html

When the kingdom was divided, King Rehoboam, Solomon's son, ruled the Southern Kingdom or the Kingdom of Judah. Jeroboam became the first king of the northern ten-tribe kingdom of Israel after the division of the kingdom around 931 BC.

Final comment:

In many ways, one can say whether King Rehoboam, Solomon's son, was so "high in himself". Thus, he did not consider it dangerous to be so!
And had to pay a very high price for this.
There is not much to indicate that King Rehoboam, Solomon's son, learned from his mistakes. But continued as he had always done.
Not learning from his mistakes is also part of the overall picture here.
May God, through the Lord Jesus Christ, be able to teach us all not to give in to our own flesh.
But listen, learn and move forward in the Spirit's new life with Jesus,
Not least of where we have gone wrong. and lost God's Blessing!

No. 1666:

King David's mistake and disgrace that is little discussed was perhaps that he did not forgive his son Absalom, who presumably perished due to David's actions!

Picture of Absalom, who was unfortunately left to his own devices in many ways.
It went as it almost had to go.
In defeat, death and despair.

There are areas and aspects of King David that are much discussed.
Not least his infidelity with Bathsheba.
Also his census of the people, which displeased God in a special way, is also discussed.
These are of course important things.
But what happened internally in the family.
Not least David's actions towards his son Absalom are little discussed.
Almost not brought up in any contexts when King David and his Kingdom, life and ministry are discussed.
Here in this article, this is the main topic.

Some brief history about Absalom.

Absalom is King David's third son.

Absalom was born in Hebron. As a young man, he avenged his sister Tamar, who had been raped by his half-brother Amnon (2 Sam 13).
Absalom was the most handsome and the most cunning and ambitious son that David had. The Bible says: “In all Israel there was no one so highly praised as Absalom, who was a handsome man. From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.” 2 Sam 14:25.

We enter the story after Absalom had killed his half-brother Amnon.
When Absalom fled.
We read in 2 Sam. 13. 37 But Absalom fled and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son all the days. 2 Sam 3:3
38 Now Absalom fled and went to Geshur, and was there three years.
39 This kept King David from going out against Absalom; because he had consoled himself over Amnon's death.

Absalom fled to the area where his mother came from, and which he certainly knew from before.
Absalom was the son who probably resembled King David the most?
He was a tough guy like David, who enjoyed challenges.
At the same time, very sensitive like his Father.

Here Absalom had fallen out of favor with his Father.
Although in many ways he had let his half-brother get punished for having offended Absalom's sister, as you can read about in 2 Sam. 13.

Eventually Joab intervened in a masterful way and got Absalom to move back to Jerusalem. Where he belonged and where his family lived.
King David his Father took him to "grace."
It was not really any "grace." When David did not forgive Absalom as he should. But we read that the lack of grace, and the way he handled this situation, would have enormous consequences.
We can all find ourselves in situations, relationships and circumstances that are very demanding.
But then it is important to seek the Lord.
Live according to God's word, and orient yourself in a spiritual and biblical way.
We see that David behaved towards his own son in what in my eyes I would call a betrayal and a game of trickery towards his own son.
Such behavior that King David displays towards Absalom is such unworthy, simple and vulgar behavior.
Is actually what the scripture says we should not do.
We read about this in the New Testament.

Gal. 6. 7 But do not be deceived, for God is not mocked. Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
8 He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh. But he who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.
9 Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not give up.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

It says here that we should do good, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
I would add, the family.
This is exactly what David did not do to his own son.
Who should have shown how to deal with this.
King David, like Absalom, was a warrior, sensitive, and also let this dominate him.
We read the following about King David when he faced challenges.

1 Sam. 25. 21 But David had said, “In vain have I kept all that this fellow has in the wilderness, so that nothing was lost of all that belonged to him; but he has repaid me with evil for good.” 1 Sam 24:18 Ps 35:12
22 May God do evil to David’s enemies both now and later; I will not leave one of all who belong to him alive until tomorrow!”
23 When Abigail saw David, she hurried and got down from her donkey and fell on her face to the ground before David.
24 She fell at his feet and said, “My lord, the blame is on me; but please let your servant speak to you, and listen to the words of your servant.”
25 My lord, do not pay attention to this wicked man Nabal. For as his name is, so is he; Nabal is his name, and he is full of folly. But I your servant did not see the men whom you sent, my lord.* *Nabal: fool.
26 Now therefore, my lord, as the LORD lives, and as you yourself live, the LORD has kept you from bloodguilt and from avenging yourself; now let your enemies and those who seek my lord’s harm be like Nabal.
27 And now, let this gift that your servant has brought to my lord be given to the men who are with my lord.
28 Leave your servant alone, what she has brought.has done evil! For the Lord will build my lord a sure house; for thou hast fought the Lord's battles, my lord, and evil has not been found in thee from the day that thou wast. 1 Sam 18:17 ** *warrior: 1 Sam 18:17.
29 And if any man rise up to pursue thee, and seek thy life, then the life of my lord shall be hid with the Lord thy God in the congregation of the living; but the lives of thine enemies shall he sling out as a stone from a sling.
30 And it shall come to pass, when the Lord shall have done unto thee according to all the good that he hath spoken unto thee, and shall have appointed thee prince over Israel, 2 Sam 5:2
31 Then shall this not be a stumblingblock unto thee, my lord, nor a reproach unto thee, that thou hast shed innocent blood, and hast avenged thyself, my lord: and when the Lord shall have done well unto thee, my lord, then remember thine handmaid.
32 Then David said to Abigail, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who sent me this day to meet you!
33 And blessed be your discretion, and blessed be you, who have kept me this day from coming to bloodguilt and from avenging myself!
34 But as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, who has kept me from harming you, if you had not hurried and come to meet me, surely not one of Nabal’s men had been left by morning.”
35 Then David accepted the gifts that she had brought him and said to her, “Go in peace; I have considered your words and granted your request.”

When we read this account.
David was about to kill Nabal and take the law into his own hands in many ways.
But because Nabal’s wife was clever, wise, and resourceful, David was spared from all of it.
Who later became David's wife when Nabal died.
While his son Absalom was in many ways like his Father, and took the law into his own hands.
It is clear that Absalom was in many ways his Father's successor.
But how did David behave towards him?
I would say very badly and blameworthy.
When he returned to Jerusalem we read the following about the relationship the two had.

2 Sam, 14. 28 Absalom lived in Jerusalem for two years but did not come before the king's eyes.

In order not to try to include all the details here.
Which could have been interesting enough, we must look at this period where King David and his son were apart.
Where Absalom developed into a man who tried to take David's throne.
It actually became a coup d'état and civil war. Where David had to flee from Absalom and he then left Jerusalem.
If we include the years that they were separated from each other until Absalom died.
Then there is probably a period of approx. 6 years or thereabouts.
In many ways, David was no Father to Absalom in those years.
When David in many ways broke all contact and connection.
Where Absalom got to meet David at least once physically during those years.
It was a great, great tragedy for both of them.

It was during that period that David did not want to have contact with Absalom that he became radicalized!

Now we cannot go into all the details in this article.
But it is clear that Absalom as we meet here at the end of his life.
Before he is killed by Joab, and dies a tragic death.
So he was in many ways a rebel, a rebel and there was little lovable about him as a person.
In my eyes, without that it is clear and straightforward.
Then Absalom was let down, by Joab and others.
But above all, by his own Father who did not in any way try to take him under his "wings!"
Where he, King David. Not once visited, or let Absalom be in his vicinity.
As we know, the Jews celebrate more than any other holidays.
Be it the Sabbath and other holidays.
Imagine, David could have invited his own son to these holidays.
Not once did he do so.
In every way, there was a denial of responsibility, irreconcilability and everything that should not be in a Father Son relationship.
David had to have a feeling and desire for reconciliation?
But why didn't he take the incentive or try to meet his Son Absalom?
Absalom walked like David, looked like David.
Was a tough guy like David, a strong and distinctly emotional person like his Father.
He was really as similar to him as possible.
However, Father David failed to do anything about the situation when Absalom was dead.
By then it was too late.
We read about what King David trumpeted and shouted when Absalom was dead.

2 Sam. 18. 28 And Ahimaaz called to the king, Peace! And he fell on his face to the ground before the king, and said, Blessed be the LORD thy God, which hath delivered into thine hand the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.
29 And the king said, Is it well with the young man, with Absalom? Ahimaaz answered, I saw a great tumult, when Joab sent the king's servant, and me thy servant, but I knew not what it was. 2 Sam 18:21-23 ** *servant: 2 Sam 18:21.Note on departure: 2 Sam 18:23.
30 And the king said, Turn aside, and stand there. So he turned aside, and stood there.
31 And immediately the Cushite came, and said, Let my lord the king hear good tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.
32 The king asked the Cushite, “Is the young man Absalom safe?” The Cushite answered, “May the enemies of my lord the king and all who come to him be safe.”

is against you and seeks to harm you, as that young man did!
33 Then the king was deeply moved. He went up to the upper room above the gate and wept, and as he went, he said, “My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! Would that I had died instead of you! Absalom, my son, my son!” 2 Sam 19:4

2 Sam. 19. 1 And some people came and told Joab, “The king weeps and mourns for Absalom.” 2 Sam 18:33
2 And the victory was turned into mourning that day for all the people, for the people heard that day that the king was grieved for his son.
3 And the people stole into the city that day, as men steal into their houses when they are ashamed because they flee in battle.
4 But the king had covered his face and cried with a loud voice, “My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!” 2 Sam 18:33
5 Then Joab went into the king's house and said, "Today you have disgraced all your men, who have saved your life today, and the lives of your sons and daughters, your wives and concubines.
6 You love those who hate you and hate those who love you. You have shown today that you have neither commanders nor servants. Now I know that if Absalom had lived and all of us had died today, then it would have been right in your eyes."

It is painful, strong and painful to read David's desperate cry and that he wished he had died instead of his son Absalom!

Listen to David's cry, which is almost like a supplication.

My son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom! Oh that I had died instead of you! Absalom, my son, my son!

My son Absalom! Absalom, my son, my son!

David wept, covered himself and cried out in despair.
It must have been downright terrible, traumatizing and directly brought David to the breaking point of what he could endure and handle as a human being.
This is what happens when you really let others down.
Here he let Absalom be left to himself.
Then he became a rebel and a rebel.
Not only that, he had relations with David's concubines in front of all Israel. Where he actually raped his Father's concubines for "open scene."
Right up on the roof. We read about the incident here;

2 Sam. 16.20 Then Absalom said to Ahithophel: Now give advice and tell us what we should do!
21 Ahithophel answered: Go in to your father's concubines, whom he left to keep the house! Then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself abhorrent to your father, and all who are with you will be encouraged. 2 Sam 15,16
22 Then they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and Absalom went in to his father's concubines in the sight of all Israel. 2 Sam 12,11-12

This in many ways free sex life was part of his rebellion and way of acting that was to that extent simply evil, rebellious and demonic.
This person Absalom had become, without his Father David having in any way tried and shown willingness to stop his development.
That David wanted to die in his place, is difficult to see as a real desire?
He had failed his own son when he was alive.
Then wanting to die in his place must be interpreted and believed that David had then realized that he had completely acted directly evil and unwisely towards Absalom.

After this incident, David was a reduced man.
He probably did not go out to more wars, and lived more secluded.
There was no doubt, that here David really failed.
In that we know our own shortcomings and here I would say almost stupidity not to try to reconcile.
So unfortunately that is how we all act in many situations, relationships and settings.
Therefore the scripture says:
Prov. 24. 10. If you show yourself discouraged in the day of trouble, your strength is small.

Isn't this true only of David?
Isn't that how we all are, often?
David failed. He failed himself, his family and his people.
But above all, he failed God and Absalom.
David says:

Psalm 51. 16 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, the God of my salvation! Then my tongue will rejoice in your righteousness.

This verse fits so well here.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness.
Of course, it is very hard to take.
But there were probably some colossal battles and accusations that David now had.
Absalom of course chose himself to become who he became.
But for him to become what he became, it was undoubtedly being let down by several.
But above all, his own Father.
Which made this situation and the circumstances as tragic as they became.
Here we have a lot to learn, all of us from David.
It is not least to do good, always.
In some settings, doing good is seen as being disobedient to the community.
Was there possibly something behind it all?
Showing Absalom care and love after his actions.
Wasn't seen as something good, but it would have been.
Here one should let mercy go for justice. Not least when one reads that Absalom was given the opportunity to return to Jerusalem. Then it is important to look after that person when one before he invited him. If one has said a, then one must say b.

In many ways, it was David's morality that made him not contact his son. When he had fallen from grace with the murder he committed of his own half-brother who had raped his sister.
But David let him return to Jerusalem.
But was not so loving and devoted above or Absalom as a Father was supposed to be after he died. Then it was too late to show love.

I also believe that David as a leader suffered from having few or no close friends.
It seems that when you study David, he got many followers.
But friends are needed.
Solomon writes a lot about this in the book of Proverbs.
Here is an example.

Prov. 17. 17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for trouble.
18. 24 A man who has many friends will fall into trouble; but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

Joab, we read about, was probably a little worried and did not stand up for Absalom. Except to get him back to Jerusalem.. That was how many of David's warriors and men were.
Was there no one who could correct David?
Make suggestions, or something like that?
That he should not just let Absalom come to Jerusalem.
But let him back into the family, and don't let him live a secluded life where he only got sustenance. Money and material values can never replace family, friends and the contact that we all need with having someone who stands up for you.

The story with and around Absalom has a lot to say to us today.
Where we see that isolating someone is the last kind of way to treat people.
We are made for community. Therefore, what David did to Absalom is a form of tyranny and really being unloving towards his own son.

What King David should have done to Absalom was actually a simple and small matter!

We often think that our biggest mistakes and the so-called big things.
But very often it is "small" decisions that have "big" consequences.
Here David should have just gotten Absalom into the "warmth".
Don't let him be out in the "cold" and isolated from David, the family and would have clearly needed a greater community.
Of course, Absalom had his own choice, and it is obvious that those choices were anything but good.
What could have possibly helped him, and broken those choices.
Not least this about being taken into the "heat!"
That did not happen, and he became a rebel and caused himself and all of Israel enormous pain and tragedy.
David acted completely wrong, and the consequences were civil war.

King David as an older man

Final comment:

This last battle here that resulted in an actual rebellion and civil war.
David did not stand up for his own son.
Then it went as it often does, it ends in disaster.
I am aware that it may not go as badly as it did with David.
But the point is there, we must stand up for each other.
I am aware that everyone is responsible for their own lives.
But here Father and the shepherd failed. But if Father and Mother fail.
Then one must seek the Lord on their own.
It does not look like Absalom did.
Therefore he had nothing to oppose when the enemy laid his cunning and evil plans against Absalom.

There are many circumstances and much to learn here. Where we must surely realize that David acted far too late. Perhaps he overlooked his own feelings and his own conscience?
Much speaks for it, as he screamed and carried himself when Absalom died and had been killed by one of King David's most trusted men, Joab.

2 Sam. 18. 8 And the battle spread throughout the whole country around, and the forest devoured more of the people that day than the sword devoured.
9 Absalom came straight to meet David's men; he was riding on his mule, and the mule went under the thick branches of a great terebinth, so that his head caught hold of the terebinth, and he was suspended between heaven and earth; for the mule that he was riding on ran away. 2 Sam 14:26
10 And a man saw it, and told Joab, and said, I saw Absalom hanging there in the oak.
11 And Joab said unto the man that told him, Why sawest thou him not then, and smote him to the ground? then I would have given thee ten shekels of silver, and a girdle.
12 And the man said unto Joab, If I should receive a thousand shekels of silver in mine hand, I would not put forth mine hand against the king's son: for we all heard the king charge thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware of the young man, and of Absalom, whosoever he be of you.
13 But if I had dealt deceitfully, and taken his life, there was nothing hid from the king, and thou wouldest have escaped.
14 And Joab said, I cannot stand here with thee, to be carried away. And he took three spears in his hand and thrust them into Absalom's heart, while he still hung alive in the midst of the terebinth.
15 Then ten young men - Joab's comrades-in-arms - stood around and struck Absalom and killed him.
16 Then Joab sounded the trumpet, and the people stopped pursuing Israel; for Joab kept the people back.
